Greek fire was a chemical solution that was used in ancient warfare by the Byzantine Empire against its enemies. According to one online source, it was developed around ad 672 and was used with devastating effect, especially in sea warfare because it could burn on water. What was Greek fire? Its actual chemical composition remains a mystery. It was such a valuable military weapon that the formula was kept an absolute secretand was lost to the ravages of history. Today, researchers continue to try to replicate that ancient formula, but without success.
One source of catastrophic destruction among believers in Christ, however, is not a mystery. James tells us that the source of ruin in our relationships is often a very different kind of fire. He wrote, The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body (James 3:6). Those strong words remind us how damaging unguarded words can be to those around us.
Instead of creating the kind of verbal Greek fire that can destroy relationships, families, and churches, lets yield our tongue to the Holy Spirits control and allow our words to glorify the Lord.
Read: James 3:1-12
Good morning! Thanks for the beautiful lesson from God’s Word! It’s always needed for inner peace!
A BIG Amen to That!
Good Morning/Afternoon to Amy’s Place.
The following link I’m presenting is “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”.
The first verse is sung by elementary students and then four high school choirs join in.
Might want to grab a Kleenex or two.

Meg, your flowers are so beautiful. Those two colors go so good together. Thank you so much!!
This presentation was wonderful, Dave. I don’t think I’ve ever listened to this song without teary eyes. Thank you for posting this beautiful music for us today.
It was a fast mover that is bringing tornado warnings in Mississippi and Alabama now..
I would have loved more rain but glad we missed the power outages and tornadoes!
Meg, speaking of storms, I love spring and am looking forward to it, however, thats when we have those hard spring rains and storms and storms with blowing winds and side-ways rains truly scare me. I have some large trees (back and front.) In the back I have large pine trees and they are on a little slope. They have been wonderful for privacy. I’ve had two to fall and one of those tore my little outside building down. I’ve replaced the building now, but then, I think of the storms again.
I’ve lost 2 trees by storms and had one extra one cut down. It costs a lot for clean-up, even when they fall on their own. And it cost a lot more to get one cut down and then cleaned up. But when you own a home, there is always something to be done. Those trees were barely up to my knees when they were planted many years ago. Isn’t it funny we don’t think about them becoming giant trees someday. (And then we are older and have to hire everything done.) And back then, we didn’t think of getting older. Life is funny that way.
Tree removal is costly! I remember your storms and tree damage. Spring has been here lately ..though I know more cold weather will surely come before real spring arrives.

Thank you Meg. Things have been so busy here in NY with out constant fight for our Rights under the 2nd Amendment my head has been spinning. Our Rights are under assault and we have to stop this here before it catches on nation wide. If you hear anything about the fight in NY you know I am somewhere in the midst of it.
(((((Thank you with All my Heart for the Blessing)))))
(((((Hugs)))))
