You are naive beyond belief. I trained in the Army in the late 60's on riot control. We trained how to move mobs using disciplined formations with fixed bayonets. There were seven levels of escalations before orders could be given to fire upon mobs with bullets.
Bush the first used IIRC about 20,000 to 25,000 regulars to quell riots in Los Angeles. Douglas MacArthur and George Patton used troops to fire upon the veterans in Washington, DC.
Riot control is NOT the same thing as a large scale, i.e. nationwide, plan to disarm otherwise peaceful gun owners and/or round up Christians. There are way too many conspiracy theories floating around. That’s the thing about conspiracy theories. They usually take very small pieces of information and blow them out of proportion. They are also almost always wrong.
Training in the early 70’s was much the same.My personal belief, from what I know,yes I believe troops will fire if ordered.Sad but true.Straight leg infantry for six years,hopefully times have changed.If soldiers find out their loved ones have been killed,anger will prevail.
