It doesn't have anything to do with "better" for you. Unlike instant oatmeal, steel cut oatmeal doesn't taste like wallpaper paste.
I use Quick Oats, cooks in one minute. Quaker is the major brand, but I have a store brand from Bottom Dollar that is grainy and isn’t like wallpaper paste.
