Hi Jonny. Never been a fan of Motown week.
It’s because motown week is awful. They pick the same dozen or so songs and divafy them up.
Then there is the mandatory appearance by Stevie Wonder. :-|
Noticed Seacrest said any artist from Detroit was eligible, so it's not limited to just Motown?
This week's mentor is Smokey Robinson. He says Candace's last performance made him cry.
Her choice this week is "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". It's fine. But it sounds pretty standard.
She gets all growly at the end of it.
Keith: You raise the bar exponentially. You lifted it up and powered it up. I never feel like you overpowered it. Love watching you come into yourself.
Minaj: How are you, Candy girl? You do a great job of not over-doing it. Rocky type of bluesy thing. Good for people to see that side of you. Good job.
Randy: So comfortable. You believe you belong in this competition. Amazing job. Effortless. Crazy good.
Mariah: In a lot of ways you epitomize what that competition is. Bluesy, churchy voice.
