i maybe wrong but i think many/a lot of the are gun shy... getting shot down for most of them is still hard to take in today's self esteem driven world even for Christians

Fewer young men in the US want to get married than ever, while the desire for marriage is rising among young women, according to the Pew Research Center.
Pew recently found that the number of women 18-34 saying that having a successful marriage is one of the most important things rose from 28 percent to 37 percent since 1997. The number of young adult men saying the same thing dropped from 35 percent to 29 percent in the same time.
Pew’s findings have caught the attention of one US writer who maintains that feminism, deeply entrenched in every segment of the culture, has created an environment in which young men find it more beneficial to simply opt out of couple-dom entirely.
Suzanne Venker’s article, “The War on Men,” which appeared on the website of Fox News in late November, has become a lodestone for feminist writers who have attacked her position that the institution of marriage is threatened, not enhanced, by the supposed gains of the feminist movement over the last 50 years.
“Where have all the good (meaning marriageable) men gone?” is a question much talked about lately in the secular media, Venker says, but her answer, backed up by statistics, is not to the liking of mainstream commentators influenced by feminism.
She points out that for the first time in US history, the number of women in the workforce has surpassed the number of men, while more women than men are acquiring university degrees.
“The problem? This new phenomenon has changed the dance between men and women,” Venker wrote. With feminism pushing them out of their traditional role of breadwinner, protector and provider – and divorce laws increasingly creating a dangerously precarious financial prospect for the men cut loose from marriage – men are simply no longer finding

The whole culture, the schools, the government are all advertising it as normal and parents from the 80's and 90's don't counter that message
The Catholic Church is much more tolerant of inter-faith marriages involving different forms of Christianity, as opposed to different religions all together. I could have a wedding that is blessed by both the Catholic Church and Jewish religion, however I have to make a vow that my children are raised Catholic. As for her, Jewish women are supposed to continue the tradition of their parents, so she’s called to raise her kids Jewish.
SatinDoll, I think you misreplied to me. Others in the thread were discussing their desire to have a subservient wife. I only mentioned the fact that I wouldn’t marry a liberal. I have no problem if my wife is independent. When I mention gender roles, I’m referring to the fact that liberals are now promoting cross-dressing in their schools, and gender-neutral toys.

Sometimes I think it's the extra weight they're carrying--fat equals estrogen. And all the porn they're addicted to. If you get aroused by a photograph of a body part that is about as sexy as doing a dissection in Gross Anatomy...well, something's wrong with our young men.
My impression is that a lot of them are just plain lazy--that's why they rely on porn for sex, can't find work and lay around watching Jon Stewart youtubes.

We’ve told our boys that if they marry an American-born women, they won’t find us at the wedding. Just too likely to end up in failure, given the way the cards are now stacked.
She can call the cops, and say I hit her, even if I didn't, and I get kicked out of my house that I own free and clear in my own name.
Then she lawyers up. No money required. Her lawyer will take mine.
I lose all my rights to own weapons (domestic violence that didn't happen, only an allegation is required), I probably lose the house, lose my firearms, and wind up on the streets.
That's the way the system works these days.
I think I'll just spend Friday night alone at home Freeping. Seems much safer that way.

Many men here can tell you how they saw themselves, their nation, their relationship with society and their role in it, and how much it meant to them to progress through life and into marriage and into the role of husband, and then father, and then what a shock it was when the female decided to move on.
It turns out that the female owns it all, you were just visiting, that never was your home, your children, your lifestyle. The shocker is to learn about the kids.
Even dads with money and position and lawyers, at best, get visiting rights.
