I played the game from Jr. High to 38 and loved it, but I will not return to the arena this year.

At some point in time, the people who really pay the bills and I don’t mean team owners, I mean the fans and taxpayers need to grow a pair and say, you’re not that fricken important and we are not going to pay good money for a shortened season.

Unfortunately, I will be in the minority and the owners and players will never get the message.

Unfortunately I've heard(like most professional sports)the vast majority of revenue comes from TV contracts(not ticket sales, merchandise, etc)...as such there is no reason to change the status quo.

...unless of course people stop watching, driving TV ratings in the toilet.

The average cable/dish subscriber is paying 40%-50% of their bill to sports networks(ESPN,FOX(local),others).

Example: "Dodgers, Fox Sports talking $6-billion TV deal..."

Yet another reason to dump the dumbing down, propaganda machine that is today's media.
