A friend of mine put it this way... "I am not African, I have never been to Africa, my parents have never been to Africa, and none of us intend to ever go to Africa. I am an American. And I am black. Deal with it."
I read recently that the people with the darkest skin on earth are the natives of Guadalcanal island. Or maybe it was Bougainville. One of those South Pacific places.
