About the only thing I used the Palm for (my own) is a camera, as I really like the size of the viewing screen. I’m sure it has other uses, but that’s the only one I’ve bothered with.

That was true with the last one I had, a Zire. The camera was excellent. Sounds like tech support is going to work out for you, and that pleases me.

At the race track, to handle trip/vehicle/weather data, rather than use a laptop.

What on Earth do you do at the track?? Sounds like pit crew or something. Something hand-held has *got* to be better (and cheaper) than a PITA laptop. Less to lug around.

Looks like you'll have to copy and paste this one.

When I feel up to it, I am the pit crew, but the driver now does all the brainy stuff with dials, switches, gazintas and gazoutas, the weather stuff and track conditions, etc.

He bought a laptop, then heard about the PalmPilot and the rest is history. Lucky me, one of my brothers gave me his Palm when he was tired of it; he does that with a lot of his electronical things!

Anyway, Busdaddy got his money back for the laptop (it was still in the box) and he bought racing software for the Palm. However, we couldn't get it to Hot Sync, so I've been beating myself up (thinking it was CFIDS at work instead of just software drivers.) Hopefully, this will work.
