distinctly triangular heads

Apparently, TN snakes have a warped sense of humor because some on the non-venomous ones flatten their little heads out to look triangular. The only way I can tell is to eyeball them closely. Discretion being the better part of valor....

We have ‘special’ snakes here that seemingly get curious as to what these moving things are and come to investigate.
Not too bad when it’s just a little garden snake checking you out.

But an Eastern Diamondback deciding he wants to see what you’re doing is rather disheartening.
Especially when you carfully move him, and he decides to follow you.

Only had that happen once thankfully.
