Windows 8?!
Unclean! Unclean!

I’d upgrade the system back to a real PC user OS like Windows Se7en.

Well, if you wanted a real PC user OS, you'd be looking at a Linux flavor, but I like Windows 7. Still, if Microsoft is going to give me the opportunity to make the break, then I'm going to make the break, not reward them for having built a stupid UI.

Android seems to be a pretty good OS for everything I'd need.

I like this computer. It boots in literally five seconds. Windows 8 is quite intuitive and easy to use. It’s a little intimidating at first because it looks like there are no buttons to push, but they’re there, and it’s fun.

One weird thing is that the hard drive sounds as if someone is having hunger pangs, or grumbling about something that is too faint to understand the words.

I love it! It comes with its own built-in gremlins grumbling.

You just can’t beat that.

After my first look at Windows 8, I'm thinking my next computer will be a convertible tablet with an Android OS.

Win8 may have some good stuff but why on earth (or above the earth - maybe under the earth though) would I want something that belongs on a touch screen device installed on my desktop? Just my thoughts.. I'm grabbing a couple of OEM's of Win7 before they disappear.

Oh, and I have a box running a Linux distro (Mint13) right now - figure I'll try out a bunch of the distros to see what's up with the Penguin..

You don't have to get that drastic. I have a couple of OEM's of WinXP you can have cheap. If you want to upgrade to a real user OS, I still have a copy of MS-DOS 6, but you'll need a floppy to install it... ;-)

Also have the bigthickbook that goes with it...
