Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedevs off-air comments that Russian Presidents are given a secret file about extraterrestrials living among us created much media interest. Most news reports claimed that Medvedev was simply joking. His apparent reference to the Men In Black movie as a source of information on a super secret agency that monitors extraterrestrials on Earth was commonly cited as key evidence that he was in fact joking. The reasoning is that no political leader would refer reporters to a comedy to clarify national policy. It has now emerged that Medvedev was not referring to the Men in Black comedy after all, but to a recent Russian television documentary titled Men in Black that reveals many details about an extensive cover up of extraterrestrial life visiting Earth.
However, a more accurate translation of what Medvedev actually said about the Men in Black phenomenon was: You can receive more detailed information having watched the documentary film of the same name. So Medvedev was referring to a Russian documentary film titled Men in Black, not the Hollywood blockbuster by the same name...
Russian Men In Black (MIB) documentary, a number of prominent UFO cases in Russia and the USA are discussed. The Roswell UFO crash is covered, along with a number of extraterrestrial abduction cases, and UFOs disabling nuclear weapons facilities. The documentary examines testimony that extraterrestrial bases have been established on Earth, and that some are in restricted US military areas with the full knowledge of the Pentagon. The documentary even goes on to seriously discuss President Eisenhowers alleged meeting with extraterrestrials, where agreements were reached with some of the visitors giving them permission to take some of the Earths resources in exchange for advanced technology...

YUM
Well, we still have the work on the repairs from the plumbing, and then I have to go and have a lump checked out (I am prone to getting benign tumors and have been since I was three years old), but when that is all behind us, we’re taking him.
It will be a Saturday, either January 19, or at the very latest, the 26th.
I will certainly let you know the results from both doctors, if you wish.
Luke is 14 years old, 72 in cat years, and he’s quite thin. He did not react well to the death of his lifelong companion, Slinker, when they were 8 years old, and he went from 12 pounds down to 7. We got him back up again, but when my Rocket died, he slowly went back down to 8.
Oh, they look wonderful. Mr. Sg isn’t allowed to have corn (sniffle).
Is there a significant Puerto Rican population in your parts?
We have yet to make it to the Highland Games. Mr. Sg is half Scottish and probably quite capable of tossing the caber (sp?).
Yes, I’d like to be updated. Our pets don’t seem to mourn when we lose one, but I make up for it.
I know a dozen or so ... but Mexicans use guava paste, too, and we have a lot of Mexicans.
On average, how much guava paste does it take to keep a Mexican in place?
This sounds like something Colonel Travers should have known about.
(Back in a bit, have to go buy some books.)
LOL! It’s very sticky.
I learned basic (street) Spanish from Puerto Ricans and other Spanish-speaking people picked at my accent (in a good-natured way). Finally decided since they (PR’s) were the ones who taught me, I’d wear my accent like a badge. They stopped the ribbing.
*giggle*
What is he going to do w/the guava paste? I’ve been learning volumes about Southern food. Earthwoman made wild cherry jelly and I used it to make rugelach. It’s terrific that she likes to try new things. I query her re: whether she likes an ingredient or a flavor (she likes her strawberries with “a little bit of whomp,” so we concluded that she might like cream cheese pastry). Her grandson lamented that people bring her tons of produce, she processes it, and then gives the preserved items back to them. After having been the recipients of her largesse for so many years, it’s fun to finally give back to her!
A sad note: elderly combat neighbor fell again and this time hit his head. His daughter left today so we’re back to the routine of feeding the horse, etc., tomorrow. I wish he’d just let us take care of his animals permanently so we didn’t have to worry about him, but the people around here are so independent and proud. To quote you, “le sigh.”
So... pick something he is allowed to have!
Although after reading some of the above posts, I don't think a Chicken and Guava Paste fritter would work... but it would be interesting ;-)
I make him apple fritters—he’s OK w/that.
Me too.
Does the combination of an acute angle and an obtuse angle keep you on the straight and narrow?
A note to the Undead...
If you change your password FR may think you are a new subscriber and limit your ability to post and FReepmail.
I updated my OS yesterday and ended up having to re enter all my old passwords on everything. Of course, the one I couldn’t remember was FR’s. Mashed “Forgot password” and waited for my email.
Then it occurred to me that I’ve been on FR a long time, and I might, just might, have an old not very secure one, sure enough, it was one I used way back when before I started site specific passwords, no caps, no numbers, no special characters, dictionary spelling.
Hmmm, time to update. Which I did. My posts are now on hold for evaluation.
Just something to be aware of...
FReep at last! FReep at last! Thank Mod all Gighty I’m FReep at last!
Could you be serious? There are things around us and we can’t see them.
No.
That combination makes one less acute and more obtuse.
On an asteroid, you can walk in triangles by executing right-angle turns.
