My Mom had a saying in her later years

“My Get Up and Go

Got up and went!”

My Dad said it differently
“this old horse ain’t what he used to be.”

there is a reason God lets some live to be 100 or so. MO

If we are being favored by God to live long. Many are they that pass on in younger years.

Be glad, be thankful, take opportunity to pass on wisdom ... it is a kind thoughtful thing to do MO
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recently I read on Face Book which I do not participate on, but I do look at photos of grandchildren and great grandchildren sites of family.
One of the great grandchildren which I see briefly every 2 or 3 years had a posting (not to me as I have never posted on face book)
“Don’t give me the back story ... if I didn’t ask, I don’t care”
________________________________________________________
Must say, I was tempted to write a response if possible
IE “it is called communication ...”
“an attitude like this is a good way to stay ignorant in life (She is 18.)
Each of us has our part to play/perform
The analogy I like is that of a beautiful silken fabric on the weavers loom, We notice there is an occasional slub, and if there is a pattern it mars the image,
it is my desire to be a part of the whole, not the slub or spoiling the perfection of a beautiful fabric of time.
Conor, you always make think of the classy ladies and gents we have had the privilege to know, over the years.
They KNEW the meaning of dignity. AND, they KNEW what it was to love their country!
Geologist - you spoke of grandchildren and sites of family on FB. It is very easy to sign up on FB and post occasionally, if it is your own family you speak of.
You are right about “communication”. Sharing with others is an important part of relationships, friendships and family love.
You are right, without communication there is nothing between people.
Same goes for God, our communication is through prayer.
Oh, it’s nice outside, Potlatch. So nice, that before I got the leash on the lil ‘popcorn’ this morning, she ESCAPED! She ran down the driveway (which is very long and curvy). I was yelling her name, and screaming ‘stop!’, and ‘come!’ and ‘no!’ - and ran as fast as I could, after her. I am sure the neighbors within a mile must think a crazy lady lives here....LOL!
Now, we have some very hungry coyotes in the high desert - and I feared a puppy toothpick was very possible!
She did her puddle, and then ran over to her ‘package drop’ area - and I finally caught her! (As she was dropping...)
I should have gotten a turtle for a pet.
That’s scary when it happens, I can remember when Piper was a pup! My house is set far back and he wanders around but never goes near the road now. I live on acreage without a fence and there are critters around here too, so at night I stay by him.
Yea! I have a new keyboard and mouse..My back couldn't tolerate
one more search for the elusive mouse. I did not put it in the washing machine with the sheets..LOL
I post on the bed because I need to keep my feet up. This new
keyboard is so lightweight..a welcome change on my lap.
I also have chocolate..which I have not had for a week. The chocolate tastes wonderful and the heating pad feels good.
We had a warmer sunny day. All is well.
;o)
Thank you for the pretty pings and comments..
Yorkie, I was reviewing posts and meant to tell you the other day how cute your little kitty on the pony was! I loved it!
Sounds like you’re as “snug as a bug in a rug”, Megs! Glad you have such a nice set-up. My back hurts terrible when I’m sitting at this computer. I think thats why I stay away from it so much. About 5-10 minutes here and there goes the back. Its terrible when things we enjoy so much causes us pain! Thats the way it goes, I guess. I’ve been thinking about a tablet to use over on the couch but haven’t made the jump yet.
Hi potlatch! I meant to yell hi yesterday and forgot. Its so good to see you here! Our thread here is not as busy as it once was. I don’t know if we’re getting “older” or “lazy”.
I’ve always claimed I’ll never be called lazy but older is something I can’t control....LOL!
Hope all is well with you!
Thank you, (((potlatch)))
I found a bargain at Target..was expecting to pay twice the price..My wireless set was an older model so I really did not mind springing for a new set..I just hated the inconvenience..LOL
I went ahead and did some grocery shopping while there and that always makes The Back mad..It’s calmed down.
My Piper (when she was three) says
and all the troops by wearing red like me! :)
Absolutely adorable, Luv. By the way, you told me the other day, but how old is she today? Tell her “I’ll sure support her daddy and the other troops.”
The whole forum isn’t as busy, in fact many forums aren’t as busy lately and they attribute it to let down from the election. I always think of people posting more in the winter because we stay inside more.
I have been more of a lurker for awhile and the cold and drab weather depresses me somewhat. Yesterday was my daughter’s birthday so the whole family was pretty downcast. I did some posting and it actually helped me.
Yeah, I hate to go out shopping when it’s cold and end up waiting until I have to. Often that ‘have to’ day isn’t the best, lol. Take care.
