Gun Frenzy: Photos Show How Quickly Stores Across the Nation Are Selling Out: “Lines Out the Door”
SHTF Plan ^ | 12/22/12 | Mac Slavo

Posted on 12/22/2012 3:22:13 PM PST by Kartographer

After nationwide calls to ban assault rifles and high-capacity magazines following the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Americans concerned about the government’s coming move to restrict the sale, the transfer, the importation and the possession of firearms deemed too dangerous to be in the hands of private citizens are cleaning out gun stores from coast to coast.

While some retailers have made the decision to suspend sales and stop selling certain firearms altogether, others are seeing sales skyrocket to never before seen levels. Parking lots are packed and hopeful shoppers are waiting hours for their chance to get their hands on weapons, parts and magazines that may soon be banned under Federal mandates.

Exactly, there’s going to be a neighborhood watch that rewards snitches and religious Christian zealots.

All the Christian "zealots", including myself, that I know are heavily armed and would not turn in anyone. In fact, they would be the backbone of any resistance movement.

Nyet. I think the form 4472s started in 1968. The only firearms registered after 1934 were your Thomson .45 that you can't afford to shoot, and other fully automatic firearms.

And 'registered' is a loaded word. If I go buy a crappy Bersa .380 today, I will fill out a form 4472 and it will get stored at the dealer's office, but fedgov is forbidden by law to keep a list of firearms associated with names of final purchasers.

If firearm xyz is found, there is a long and convoluted process that involves paper records to figure out who made it, who the brokers were, which gun shop wound up with it, and then, maybe, if you didn't lie on the 4472, they can tie it to a name.

Background checks started in 1994(I think), but filling out the 4473, a form that normally is never destroyed and is sent to the FBI after a dealer goes out of business(I think) has been in effect since the passing of the 1968 Gun Control Act, roughtly 44 years. Having said that, if a private citizen sells a weapon to another private citizen, a transaction that in many states does not require any paperwork, the government functionally loses all trace of where it went.

and thus becoming a felon passively by default is certainly something to be concerned about;

Yeah, because the asbestos siding tiles on my house are much less of a concern.

After a while, it's like the race card. I just don't give a rat's pointy little tail anymore.

Sure. They can kill me once. I can't even be recycled properly, or made into stew.

Buy now there might not be a later.

Santa is bringing me a 9mm carbine.

Not an AR or AK, but it is a scarey looking black gun. Can't pick it up until Jan 2nd. I'm already shopping for hi-cap mags for it.

:)

Then, I don’t know enough about this process. I bought a gun and filled out paperwork. The guy did a background check and I walked out with the gun. What does the government know about my purchase? You are saying they don’t know I bought it? Is it that the background check says I bought one but they don’t know what kind? Is that it? Sorry to sound dumb about this, but I didn’t major in guns. All I can do is test people and say whether or not they are sane and I can fix a wound or even deliver a baby. But I don’t know about gun registration or whatever the hell it is since I am now mixed up about the whole thing.

I don’t think any of those three agencies has what it would take to pull it off, and I think they and their masters know it, and are hoping we would accept a bluff. I don’t think we will.

Gun confiscation would require a SWAT team to go door to door like a nationwide Fallugah in every little town and major city in the land, either simultaneously or in blitz fashion. Many cops/troops wouldn’t accept the mission against fellow citizens in the first place, and for the ones who would they will find saboteurs and deserters common among their ranks. Even if all goes smoothly, the attrition rate would likely decimate &/or demoralize them by the end of the first block.

Even if reduced to smoke signals, folks are going to know when the cops/troops/UN-Rapists are on their way. Heavy arms are not going to add much to the equation either, unless they simply use weapons of mass destruction - not that Obama and his ilk wouldn’t.

Guerilla tactics and various forms of resistance will do to our troops what they did in every little hellhole we tried unsuccessfully to fight in since WWII, but on a much, much larger scale. Add to this the upwelling of anti-government sentiment when the troops come through Gestapo/Storm-trooper style or with tanks, or “soften up” the battlefield with pre-strike artillery barrages, and I think you get the picture.

The logistics behind such troop movements, especially bringing our own or foreign troops from overseas en mass, would be also be daunting.

Not going to happen, unless we are fooled by the bluff.

Thanks goodness I don’t have a boating accident story to irritate you. I had a water leak in my house and my gun went down the drain with the water.

But I still have the rifle from the Revolutionary/Civil war.

It gives them something to aim for in 2013. They have the best salesman in the world on their side now. LOL

I bought a number of Rugers this year to add to those I've purchased over the years. I've always been satisfied with them.

I think this quote from the article sort of says it all;

“The Federal government has literally purchased billions of rounds of ammunition in the last two years. Coupled with the riot gear and cross-training of local law enforcement and military for domestic policing and detention operations, many believe they are gearing up for something big.

“Moreover, the same government that is obviously mobilizing for some undisclosed future threat, is simultaneously taking steps to disarm American citizens.”

You filled out a form 4472 that certified that you weren't crazy (as if you are qualified to self diagnose), you aren't a felon (because felons don't lie on government forms), and gave your name and address and all of that. That form, stays in a book that resides with the dealer. The BATF can inspect it, but by federal law, they can't keep a list of who bought what (not that they wouldn't break the law either).

The background check goes to a clerk who does an NCIC check. Federal law, once again, forbids keeping records of exactly who got the background check.

I'd rather know all those details than be able to deliver a baby... I've seen that done. Wimmenz are strong.

if you buy from a store you will be the first in line to be paid a visit if guns are banned.

So will the seller of the gun you purchased from........Don't forget, his purchase was recorded too and I'm sure he'd be more than willing to give your name and address if offered a deal.....

That's wishing for something that won't happen and won't ever be. It's a long wait where a train don't come.

Fuming at the world as it is reduces your ability to enjoy life today. Deep breath, double shot of something from Tennessee, and Merry Christmas.

Uncle Sam isn't going to depend on local police or military to get the job done. The Federal Agents will do the dirty work as they already proved in Waco back in '93.

I like the photos in the story of the Las Vegas gunstore with people lined up outside. Too many younger folks been using their money and time night-clubbing and acting like they are celebrities, and now do a giant “OH NO'S!” and need to get armed. If you didn't see the warning signs from the first 4 year of this ass-clown, then you might deserve to pay 3 times more than you could have 9 days ago.

Well, I didn’t know how that worked and thought I did. I thought when the guy did the background check that all my info. answering those questions went to the govn. and they knew right then what gun I bought. Thanks for that info. because that makes me feel better.

I can never be tested to see if I am sane because I know all the right answers to those questions and ink blots to “look” sane since I’ve given many hundreds of them. You, however.....

And thanks to you for the info. about those gun forms. I was really mixed up about that. I was giving the govn. more power than they actually have to know what I did.
