I think it would be simple enough to build a “self-destruct” device into any drones that have sensitive technology. Even if they are scrambling our signals, you could set it up so that the self-destruct kicks in if the drone doesn’t get a signal from base for a long enough period.

Don't want to believe the Navy would lie outright about this. Iran's captured "drone" might be the one they captured after it went down over their border from Afghanistan some time ago.

And Ameananutjob would lie outright, of course.
