Hadn't heard of this. I saw this blurb on their website:

"National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Robert Ballard, best known for his discovery of the R.M.S. Yes, the newer 2.0 version is what is being offered. The old price was something like $99.00 and now it is $199.00. Blurb says money over the cost of DNA research goes to fund getting more DNA from groups in migrant route areas.

I read on Wikipedia about Native Americans not wanting to give their DNA for such purposes.
