Breaking on Fox.
Good link. ;)
GMTA!!
When youre evaluating yourself, what qualities do you try to focus on?
Petraeus: On every bit of guidance I give, the last instruction is: Learn and adapt. We also work very hard on [being] **first with the truth**. Thats a powerful admonition: First of all, were going to **tell the truth**. Were not going to put lipstick on pigs. Were going to be absolutely **100% forthright** and **brutally honest** with not just with ourselves and with our subordinates and our superiors but **with the press**. The credibility of leaders is of enormous importance.
How do you identify which officers are going to make the best leaders?
Petraeus: There has to be a foundational level of just sheer physical fitness. As we say sometimes, soldiering is still an outdoor sport. There is a certain degree of mental toughness. Theres obviously **integrity**. There is sheer professional expertise technical and tactical competence. But what then starts, I think, to separate the future stars from the rest of the pack are some other qualities. And now youre getting into judgment, **just hugely important**. Whether you think about it or not, subconsciously, **who** do you go to when you really want to **bounce** an idea off someone? Thats the person who has judgment that you value.

lol!
“Petraeus will testify this FRIDAY to members of Congress”
i.e., that means, probably, a closed session...
A flawed man most definitely. From the timing of things it looks like the Feebs were nosing into his affairs well before Benghazi happened, because a nasty cat fight over him was going on.
But he may have some interesting things to report. At this point risking his career is moot.
Thanks.
So..is this a shot across the bow at O? He is having a press conf today...perhaps the general is breaking this news now as a...warning?
His risks are different now, however; he quit the service didn’t he?
I can see it now:
Special Prosecutor: General Petraeus has testified that the administration knew of the Benghazi attack while it was underway and refused to send assistance, knowingly allowing those men to die.
Administration: Petraeus? This administration refuses to respond to allegations from a disgraced, lying, adulterer.
MSM: Who was that disgraced, lying, adulterer Petraeus banging and when did he start banging her? Thats the important story here.
Right out of the Clinton playbook.
That has been my theory since we first heard that strangely-worded resignation statement last week.
Most resignation letters, even under duress, are fairly generic,”for personal reasons” or something similar.
This one dumped the dirt or, to use another apt metaphor, burned the ammo they were using to keep him in line.
We shall see.
Friend of mine who works in the pentagon has told me lastnight that petraeus was told to shut up about bhegazi and if he didnt, the white house was going to release the info about his girlfriend. I was told that it was petraues who leaked the affair to preempt the white house and tell the truth about libya. The white house is trying to get him back in the ranks so they can threaten him with a demotion and take away his pension. My buddy told me who is a guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier told me the general is going to sing like a bird

Is it possible his testimony could be so significant that it leads to a sort of “redemption” in the eyes of the public? Nahhhhhh,,the media propogandists won’t have it.
So, now that Petraeus has completed his fact finding tour, can he change his testimony about the spontaneous eruption of violence without being charged with perjury?
The trick is that he needs to put put under oath. Sometimes congress lets volunteers testify without penalty of perjury. That cannot be allowed.
Ah, Illicide. “Disgraced former General Petraeus was discovered a suicide in his bathroom yesterday, a self inflicted gunshot wound in [some place completely implausible].”
There are 2 wildly divergent views on Petraeus and his motives. I prefer to remain optimistic until I see otherwise.
Aside from all Senate & House public calls for him to testify, it is obvious that increasing pressure is being put on him from the WH-—including threats of prosecution.
Testify now before even more framing goes on?
If this is going to be a closed session Friday, will we ever know what restrictions will be placed on him (i.e., now testifying as a private citizen), etc.
The logistics of Petraeus’ appearance are still being worked out. But a source close to Petraeus said the former four-star general has contacted the CIA, as well as committees in both the House and Senate, to offer his testimony as the former CIA director.
Fox News has learned he is expected to speak off-site to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Friday about his Libya report.
The House side is still being worked out.
Gen P needs some ex Seals to protect him, ASAP. IF he is going to sing, I’ll bet those guys would do it for free.
It would be hard not to be tempted to lay the nasty back on Obama out of revenge for their making such a big deal over his paramours. Still that doesn’t necessarily mean he’d be lying about it. The truth is terrible enough when it comes to this clown-ministration.
Whoa! Hope that is true.
Agreed they were nosing in on his affairs, and that there was a catfight, of sorts. But I'm not sure the catfight was over Petraeus. I think I read that Broadwell was trying to scare Kelley away from Allen.
Fairly small group of people involved there, but don't assume Petraeus is at the center of it. He might be, but at this point the evidence is ambiguous.
I don't foresee any interesting fallout resulting from his testimony.
