The bigger problem is how do you fit 150 million people into Texas?

I can see red interior "flyover country" America becoming part of greater Texas. It's pretty much all contiguous territory.

Blue Amerika is largely disconnected enclaves.

If Texas goes, at least another 20 states will go too.
Lots of room.

Physically, not a problem - lot of room there. The key would be to allow free market capitalism to run free of government interference domestically and internationally with minimal taxes and tariffs. Texas would be sustainably wealthy like any society that allows the free market to run.

Texas would need to adopt the United States Constitution as good, sound law of the land so it would be under the rule of law not the rule of man. Government limited to protecting it's citizens from legitimate threats to life, liberty, and pursuits, no "entitlements" and only a few legitimate cabinet posts. And keep the three branches separate - no administrative laws and regulations. And somehow make the the Supreme Court accountable to interpret the constitution in good faith based on text and original intent and understanding.

Texas biggest problem would be how to create sufficient deterrents and defenses against foreign invasion.

First, if it comes down to it, not a single Texan will “ask” nobama a damn thing.

Second, Texas is also a frame of mind and that frame of mind is easily expandable.

I would give up USSA citizenship immediately and become a Texan.
