Anyone know anything about retiring in Costa Rica?
Test
Way to take all the air out of a good Bob Seger reference.
My BIL and Sister Think Poland is the best country to visit in Europe. They say the Scots are the friendliest but it is an aggressive friendliness.
They are friendly and you darn well better be too.
They say the Western Islands of Scotland are by far the best people in Great Britain.
As you are typing a comment, look just under the text box and it will say, “Tagline: (optional, printed after your name on post):”
Then just type your statement into the long, skinny text line beneath that. You can see how it will look when you hit “preview.”
Good luck!
Than you. I am experimenting and think I have it now.
Lately the thought of getting a place in the Zakopane area is intriguing....it's the land of my ancestors, I've even tried to learn the language a bit. I like the Czech Republic or Slovakia as well, they know Communism is a failure, and they still revere Reagan in those parts.
Yeah, I noticed! Nice work! :)
Saint Thomas, Saint Johns.. Breathtaking, because of the resort atmosphere on both.. Both are English speaking, both are expensive to live..
I think I am friendly enough to fit in most places, but the locals always think of you as an interloper, or one of those rich American folks.. They treat us great, but they are also wanting something from us.. It gives you the creeps, because of the abject poverty, you are always looking behind your back..
You are always wondering if you are being stalked.. Really, we seldom hear about the Americans disappearing in these countries, because they hate the bad publicity.. True!
They didn't leave their country. They were fighting for land they were born on.

One of my favorite places on earth, wonderful people and beautiful country.. I love the accent as well.. :)
>>Even Arnold, Benedict (major general) was born in Norwitch, Conneticut.
Just to be a little accurate, Norwich, Connecticut. I drive by his birthplace everyday. He could have been heralded as one of our patriots with his actions at Ft Ticonderoga and subsequent Siege of Boston. Sadly, he got greedy.
BTW, did you know Stephen F Austin went to school in Connecticut as well? Bacon Academy, Colchester Conn. I like to bring that up to my Texas cousins. They seem to get a little pissed about it.
You really are a simple minded person sometimes ya know it. good night
That would seem suspicious in MA!
My Mother’s family came from Colonsay and Oronsay in the Inner Hebrides.
I noticed in their last issue of their newsletter, that Colonsay Gaelic is dying out and they want to conserve it.
I suppose it is just a local dialect.
First went to CR with my late wife in 1987. Thoroughly enjoyed it except for a minor earthquake. Went back a few years later on business for a few days. Ten years ago new bride and I went on our honeymoon there. We saw a lot of monkeys, no real big bugs, but wife was terrified when a coati mundi turned up on our patio. Saw a LOT of big bugs in Cuba, but not too many in Panama, but never got too far into the bush. How about Paraguay or Uruguay?
Post a reply to me. There are 3 white boxes that matter. First one is who you are replying to. That would be JRandomFreeper, a jerk. 2nd box is the text you are going to use to excoriate a liberal or render wisdom, or whatever it is we do on Friday nights.
The third white box... it has a header of Tagline: (optional, printed after your name on post)
Put your wit or whatever right there.

The extra t was un-intended, and incorrect. Mea culpa.
I'm fine with the guys like Austin, Houston, and Crockett that settled Texas, or tried to..
I always extend a hand out to the Volunteer State when I can.
Texas and Tennessee... They have good whiskey, we drink it. Match made in heaven.
