Like all of you I am "bummed out" by the turn of events in the election. I'm still reeling from the presidential and senate defeats. And I'd like to ask advise of the freepers. I'm 62 years old and a retired veteran. I'm still working a second career and am eligible to hang it up altogether. I've been heart-sick the past few years by the direction of my country. I've kept hope alive that someday somehow the GOP would embrace winning conservative principles and "kick butt" but seems to be totally incapable of doing so. I don't know. Maybe it's time to give it up and retire overseas. I'm totally horrified over what will likely happen the next four years. Obamacare scares me to death. The fact that we now seem to have more takers that givers and roughly 50% even pays income taxes at all. I'd hoped that we'd reached the tipping point with this election but I guess not. It looks like this country is going to have to sink into the dust before people will come to their senses. May God help us!
Apparently over 50% are too damn ignorant to live in a democratic society. Moochers, leaches and parasites.
Any “extra” money from SS refusenicks will be “invested” elsewhere.
Word. There were a LOT of 'write-ins' yesterday...how many of them were named 'Sarah Palin'?
Don’t get a carry permit. You’ll be first on the list to have your gun confiscated.
Israel of old was given wicked rulers when they abandoned God and spurned His way for them. It probably cannot be proved, but I doubt that their sins included the slaughter of 50,000,000 of their own children.
There have been two specific times in my life when I had great hope that our rush to destruction could be halted. First was in the late 1980’s when thousands heroically were jailed for blockading abortion mills. The church wilted when the gov’t came with RICO.
The second was 9/11. I had hope that the shock and horror of the attack on our soil would drive us to an examination of our national spiritual condition. Even Abe Lincoln called for prayer and fasting after his Union army suffered defeat.
That, of course did not happen in 2000.
It’s a bad situation - no doubt; but we can’t say we have not been warned by history. See tagline. (It’s from a Dylan song)
I’m a little younger but I feel the same way. This was for all the marbles and while we were concerned about the rules, the other guy stole the marbles, again.
The people of the US just voted for higher taxes, increased education costs, increased government intervention, increased energy costs, increased healthcare costs, less religious liberty and increased illegal immigration. Not all the people, just a majority of people in a few states imposed this on the rest of the country.
I’m through.
I am sure you two are really nice people. But you are delusional.
It is time for a new party. With new leaders. The old ones just don’t work.
Beautifully said. Reminds me of Jacob and Esau. Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of stew. Half of our country cannot see past their belly.
Damn, I just got a new home after living 3 years in a horrible, spider-infested, moldy basement! I got it for a good deal, so as long as I keep my job, I can keep the house, but... I don’t want to move to any other country. I guess I just have to keep my head down and prep like I never prepped before. Just be frugal. I can handle myself, but I so worry about my children and the world that most inevitably will develop once they’re older. I feel so protective, I’d rather they just stay close and not go out there and become targets of leftist engineering. I’m a horrible person, I don’t even have a gun. I should have had a gun, a few guns at this point in my life for protection. I can just sense what’s coming.... Rambling. Couldn’t sleep.
you give up a lot of privacy with a permit....I wouldn’t do it...
“Any extra money from SS refusenicks will be invested elsewhere.”
The point is not that people should refuse their benefits, it’s that too many people get these benefits, and we don’t have enough economic activity to pay for it.
The benefits will have to stop for everyone to make the changes we need to make. Until then, they are content with the status quo.
Nobody is going to voluntarily give up their government checks, nor am I advocating. I am advocating framing the actions when (and it is clear that it is “when” not “if”) the checks stop coming.
Keep working. The parasites are depending on us.
Vermont? You have your own problems.
It's too late...get used to it.
“Dont get a carry permit. Youll be first on the list to have your gun confiscated.”br>
Oh we don’t have any guns - we just thought it would be nice to have a “carry permit” for her.br>
And if I DID have any guns - I don’t think any red-blooded American would just let someone waltz into thier house and take them - loaded. Because once the guns are gone there is nothing left anyway.
Gonna head out to Home Depot to buy some 6” diameter lengths of PVC pipe and some caps....
in case I have to hide my guns underground from the UN inspectors....
Best description I've seen on this mess. I'm so mad at the voters of this country, I'm at a loss of words on trying to describe it.
” Canada? Thats where liberals want to go when republicans win”
Canada has had a Conservative Prime Minister since 2006. He’s done a good job. We should be so lucky.
