I’ve been a member since 1999 and it’s been driving me crazy, too.
I’ve never seen it this inconsistent.
No problems here.
(Did I mention I’m maybe 10 miles from the server farm?)
Your News/Activism post link is vanity.com ??? LOL
Holding your breath would not be advisable at this point.
Switched back to Firefox a few days ago and other than linking photobucket everything is much better...
try sending them more money
Member since 1998, too-am having a lot of problems with the site, as well.
Almost no problems here, only a few times have I had to reload in the last few days.
I’m just praying that more hamsters will be added to the wheel before election day. ;-)
Seriously, tho, I’m sure Jim and co. and trying to fix things.
I am LOST without FR when it goes down.
If it wasn’t for FR and Levin/Rush.....well.....HELP!
I have noticed for about the last year + that when I go to access FR from my browser links that it takes FOREVER for FR to load. I thought maybe browser issue or virus software filtering the site or something—or FR server issues.
I don’t know, but it has defiantly affected how often I visit FR.

Same with 98 membership and have been giving monthly for years.... This has been terrible for a few days, again, again.... DNS Attack?
“The Server at Freerepublic.com is taking too long to respond.”
I certainly understand your frustration. The times I have been unable to log on to FR have been equally upsetting. I don’t know, but it might very well be something with your computer causing the problem. You never know. There are myriad of things that can prevent your computer from running at optimum level.

Indeed. The Suckage Factor is HIGH tonight.
I don’t mean to be cynical, but we live in cynical times.
The slowdowns seem to coincide with the quarterly freepathons.
Same here. I guess the switchboard is short of wires or operators.
Jim will ban you if you complain too much about how FR runs.
Keep the fundraiser going! I guess it takes lots of electricity to keep those antique servers running.
I have Reconfigured the Sidebar as requested by Jim, but no help, in fact it is even seems slower, especially today.
I often have to pull the thread off to Desktop, and open from there, sometimes that is quicker.
FR is going to be totally useless all day Tuesday.
Back off the coffee it may help. (Or not)
