This site has been a frustrating disaster for the last week. What the he'll is going on? I can't get the page to load but 1 of 4 attempts. I'm about to give up, and I've been a member since 1998.
Please tell me this will be fixed before Tuesday!!

Maybe the DNS site your ISP uses has preferences......
Since I moved to Verizon FIOS I never have the problem of the Time Warner server telling me that FreeRepublic was an unknown site.
Try using the actual Web numeric address and see if that speeds it up.
Hmmm....how do we figure that out...I use to have it but I never have THAT OLD problem any more.

Since I've prolly written it down a dozen times over the years and can never find it later, dunno about the smarts part .. lol .. found a firefox addon that displays it when desired ;-)
