This symbol has been found in several places in Ireland. Legend has it that aliens landed in Ireland and asked them if they wanted 7 or 8 kegs of whiskey. You see their answer. If they’d have had more room, they would have written “46,000”.

“O’Sullivan was intrigued by the unfamiliar dark, circular feature in a field photographed by Google Earth”

But, confirmation was not made until local experts went and
discovered the suspected Bushmills bottles.

Dirty and old but clearly Bushmills.

How many of our buildings are made for pagan and religious ceremonies? I guess you could include McDonalds in that category. But if you went back in time, I don’t think there would be as many religious sites as these guys claim.

If you want to understand why this article insists on using the word "enclosure" instead of something like "fortification", read Lawrence Keeley's book War Before Civilization, which details the extent archaeologists go through to avoid the conclusion that our ancestors were a pretty murderous bunch of people who actually built walls to keep their enemies out. An important book for conservatives to read.

***A Dublin lecturer has discovered an unknown prehistoric site at the Hill of Tara — without even leaving his desk! ***

I can believe this. I was looking at a town on GOOGLE I lived near about sixty years ago and discovered a mile circular race track no one remembered being there. I imagine it was for early stock car races or local horse races.

O'Sullivan was intrigued by the unfamiliar dark, circular feature in a field

Judging from that photograph, the field looks to be well groomed; one can see the furrows made by tractor tires. Obviously, someone has been working this field and must have taken note of these structures. Is O'Sullivan suggesting that farmers have never taken a shovel to these structures?

You can find a lot of hidden or new things with Google Earth. Or any of the other Satellite Map Services
(GeoHack-- http://toolserver.org/~geohack/).

Here's something that's interesting to look at:
-66.553217, 99.838294
I found it on Aug. 15th.
