Your prayers are humbly requested for one of our long-time FReepers, Salamander and her new puppy Halla.
Halla is six weeks old and by rights should still be with her mother. Salamander had to take her and rescue her from an incompetent breeder who had let her get worms along with some serious other problems.
The pup was not eating, shaking and may have some neurological damage. The vets have confirmed a cranial injury, but do not yet know how severe.
A moment out of your busy day (or night) to offer up a word to The Lord for both Sal and Halla would be appreciated. Thanks so very much!
Hubby said she was nipping and tugging at his beard yesterday .
No doubt she was really trying to go for his throat...;)
I think on “Halla’ween”, I’ll keep her in her crate.....just in case.
Right now we’re all sitting in the dark waiting for the lights to come back on.
Same old story....wet trees falling on lines but they can’t see it coming and cut them down ahead of time.
State employees.
Gotta love them.
:-/
At least I’ve finally found a use for this worthless waste of money iPad.
Dobermann.
They kinda all look the same as puppies.....;)
If I said what I thought, getting zotted would be the least of my worries.
:-(
Sounds like she’s getting better!
The razor sharp puppy teeth...it’s like having a possessed stapler...LOL!
Oh how romantic!
;)
Ditto what that other (much older than I, I’m sure!) gramma said! ;)
LOL!
That is so perfect!
We’re calling her “pirhana puppy”
;D
Thank God the lights are finally back on.
Hubby pulled puppy duty last night and laid on the floor with her and she was pulling his beard and nipping his nose.
[he’s pretty much the source of all my dogs’ “bad habits”
Altariel is convinced she’s just closing in for The Kill.
;]
NOT!
LOL
We were running around like maniacs, hooking up propane space heaters and lights to keep the puppy and snakes warm.
The puppy was content but the Boas were melodramatically asking to be taken out and held.
[especially Bella, the resident drama queen]
15 hours of that.
I’m exhausted.
[wish somebody would pick me up and carry me around to keep me warm but I’m lacking the ‘cuteness factor’ that provokes such behavior]
:)
While I personally couldn’t pick you up, by gosh by golly, I’d be happy to cart you around on a dolly! That’s how much I care.
;)
Stairs would be tricky though...(thump, thump, thump, thump)
Still wondering how a Boa can be melodramatic but hey, that’s not my area. (phew)
I found a litter of border collie puppies that had been dumped on the side of the road. they found a dead cow to eat but were so full of worms and parasites that they all died. People who would dump a litter like that need to be taken out and shot.
She’s hanging in there and we’re very happy and grateful for that.
Every day that goes by without seizures or any other scary things is a step in the right direction.
Boas are the Shatners of the snake world.
First, they lounge on their decks stretched out to make sure I don’t forget they exist.
When that doesn’t work, they drape themselves dramatically over their tree branches, in complex knot patterns and smoosh their noses against the Lexan.
If *that* doesn’t work, they raise the front half of themselves against the Lexan and wave back and forth like windshield wipers.
Currently, one is sulking in his hide, one is re-trying the ‘being obvious on the deck’ trick and the other has somehow managed to coil 7 feet of herself into a large crockery dog water bowl and looks like a scaly cupcake.
Oh my GOSH! LOL!!!
Pinging the Fawnnnnnnnnn chick, too, so SHE can get this mental image in her head. ;)
Not true.
I’m sorry, but: ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. ;)

Freegards,
The Management
Seriously, keep us updated. Glad to hear you and yours are okay. (Well, since it is ‘Halla’ween, I hope you are okay. :) )
Tell your man to be careful...my hubby was laying on the floor with “puppy” Belle when the little stapler decided to bite clean through his ear...LOL! Now, he HAD an earring during his days as a singer, but he was not exactly thrilled to find himself with another hole in his head.
Happy Halla-ween...extra treats for everyone!
Here’s one of my favorite songs to celebrate the occasion (I believe you like this band as well):

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want that picture with my German Shepherd’s head on it instead of the Dobe.
No offense, Odin, no offense...
