Has the South always been America's bastion of conservatism?
Answer: no, starting in 1900, when the nation first became drunk on "progressive" Liberal socialism, under Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt, the South was as tipsy as any section, arguably more so than most.
Did President Lincoln impose Federalism on the United States?
Answer: no, a Federal form of government was established by our Founders with the US Constitution.
Did the Civil War cause progressive-liberal-socialism?
Answer: no, none of that started until decades later, and when it did come, the South was cheer-leading for it.
