I’m not near a TV to watch, so thanks for the post. Interesting. I wonder if Gallup is fudging the numbers, on purpose? To get the Dem’s out to vote? I’d like to believe it’s the truth, but I don’t know.

I don’t trust Gallup much. I’d prefer to see Rasmussen validate their poll with like numbers. Ras does show a small Romney lead.

I still am wary of the “post debate bounce” meme and fear we will be hit with it in the next few days.

I think depressing voters will make them more likely to stay home rather than go out and vote.

It’s interesting that Rassmussen and Gallup have such a gap between them now. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but at least it’s showing momentum for Romney in any case.

I think if they were doing that, they’d have Romney up 1 or 2, not 7...that would be more likely to make Obamaites stay home in despair.

Maybe a “comeback” narrative...but it is getting a little late in the day for that as well.

If that works like it did in 2008 when Barry was the new flavor of the week, it would suppress their voter turnout. That’s what it did for our side that year.

On the contrary. This would depress democrat contributions. I think it is in the bag for Romney and have been saying it for months. What is not in the bag is the senate. that is where the fight needs to go. We have a potential of 52-57 senate seats and this is a must-have.

Neither am I, but a quick Twitter search indicates Beckel is throwing in the towel. E.g., this tweet: "Bob Beckel says it is over for @BarackObama after the latest gallop poll.. don't stop until Nov. 6th! Nothing's sure until it is! #Mitt2012"

The Huffington post electoral college numbers always favored Obama. The interesting thing is that the last week or so, obama would bounce anywhere from 279 to 254, but Romney was always at 206.

However, they gave enough historical info on each state to make it clear that if you gave Romney the states that always go R except when they wanted to make history in 2008, Romney would win easily.

But they stopped updating it yesterday and the link doesn’t work any more. I wonder why? ;-)

To get the Dem’s out to vote?

If that's the strategy, sounds like a bit of a loser to me.

Kinda akin to saying "this year's Yankees suck so bad they've no chance at the pennant, so hurry out and get your season tickets today" ? !

Might normally be arguably effective as a tactic to try to inject some ennui in R voters, but disinfecting our nation of this commie racist sissy muslim maggøt and 'his' husband ain't no ordinary 'normal'.
