“True, but he did say something to the effect “unless something surfaces at the last minute” (paraphrasing), and wouldn’t comment further when other panel members asked for elaboration”

Like the Drudge Tweet indicating Gloria Allred is on the case for Bambi. If true my guess is she is ready to drag out some pathetic sole with all kinds of claims against either Romney or Ryan.

With a mere 9% response rate ~ as of May this year ~ and that declining rapidly, the pollsters really have no idea what's going on.

That's why they are all turning to AUGERY, and nothing AUGERS WELL for Obama!

I still am wary of the “post debate bounce” meme and fear we will be hit with it in the next few days.

Too late. It would have started showing up by now if it was going to happen. Now we are heading into the weekend and focus has shifted to the third and final debate on Monday night. Tuesday night's debate is already old news.

As Monday night's debate focuses on foreign policy, Romney will have plenty of opportunity to correct the record with regard to the Libya situation and Candy will not be around to have Obama's back. Should be fun to watch.

Yep, that’s what I assumed he was referring to. I’m sure if there’s any stink afoot that sorry sack knows about it.

I google searched the phrase sometime in early 2007 and never found an earlier use. I should have trademarked it.

This Wiki piece on Corsi’s book, The Obama Nation is about the most left-wing biased thing I’ve ever seen on Wiki. Contrary to popular belief here, a lot of their stuff is actually pretty tough on the left. I use them a lot in my research.

Again, a warning, this particular one is sickening...

**********************************

“The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality is a controversial bestselling book by Jerome Corsi intended by its author to oppose Barack Obama’s candidacy for President of the United States.[1] The book alleges Obama’s “extreme leftism”, “extensive connections with Islam and radical politics”, “naïve... foreign policy”, past drug use and connections to corrupt backers, among other things.[2] The book has been criticized for containing factual errors,[1][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] as being racially charged,[8][10][11] and as being a political “attack book” containing smears, falsehoods, and innuendo.[12][13][14][15] FactCheck described the book as “a mishmash of unsupported conjecture, half-truths, logical fallacies and outright falsehoods.” FactCheck’s review also stated that, “A comprehensive review of all the false claims in Corsi’s book would itself be a book.”[16]”

“Corsi said his purpose in writing the book was to defeat Obama in the 2008 United States presidential election.[1] In the book, he recounts Barack Obama’s upbringing and early political career in Chicago and argues that Obama is an “extreme leftis[t]” who should not be elected president. The book claims to document “Obama’s extensive connections with Islam and radical politics”, his “religious affiliation with ... black-liberation theology”, and his associations with controversial pastor Jeremiah Wright, fundraiser Tony Rezko,[9] and radical activists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, formerly of the Weather Underground.[2] The book also argues that Obama supports “far-left domestic policy” and “naïve... foreign policy predicated on the reduction of the military”, and that he is therefore unsuitable to be the President of the United States.[2]”

As I said, sickening...

“Corsi’s book has been criticized for inaccuracies by news organizations such as The New York Times,[1] the Los Angeles Times,[3] U.S. News and World Report,[47] the Associated Press,[4] Time magazine,[48] Newsweek,[49] The Daily Telegraph,[5] Editor & Publisher,[6] The Guardian,[7] CNN,[8] The Independent,[9] Politifact.com,[50] and The Boston Globe.[35]

According to The New York Times, “several of the book’s accusations, in fact, are unsubstantiated, misleading or inaccurate.”[1] Peter Wehner of Commentary wrote: “conservatives should not hitch their hopes to” Corsi’s book because “it seems to be riddled with factual errors — some relatively minor (like asserting that Obama does not mention the birth of his half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, in Dreams from My Father; Obama does mention her), and some significant (suggesting that Obama favors withdrawing troops from Afghanistan; he wants to do the opposite).”[51]

The Washington Post called it an “innuendo-filled, mistake-riddled biography” in its online election diary The Trail.[52] Kate Linthicum of the Los Angeles Times wrote “being No. 1 [on the best seller list] doesn’t necessarily mean being accurate” in regard to Corsi’s claims about Obama’s religious faith.[3] The Politico reported that Corsi’s book “left a trail of wild theories, vitriol and dogma that have called into question his credibility.”[53] The British newspaper The Independent called Corsi’s book “a hatchet job on Obama”.[9] According to Slate, “neither Corsi nor Matalin responded to e-mails from me asking whether they intended to correct any errors in The Obama Nation – it would be a miracle if there were none” [emphasis in original].[54]

The book also contains what The Washington Post describes as “potentially offensive passages” about Barack Obama’s personal and family life, such as one stating that Obama is less identified with his American roots than his “African blood”.[11] Corsi also writes: “Obama’s mother chose another Third World prospect for her second husband, a second man of color, to be her mate”, noted by CNN as “lines some might consider racially insensitive.”[8] The LA Times also pointed to a line by Corsi claiming “Obama wants to will all the white blood out of himself so he can become pure black,” citing “bigoted comments.”[55] The Chicago Sun-Times called it “an abomination,” and said the book “exploits racial fears [and] hate in [an] effort to scare white America.”[10] Corsi has drawn criticism for scheduling an appearance to promote the book on the The Political Cesspool, a “pro-White” radio talk show described as “white nationalist” by the Southern Poverty Law Center.[56][57] He previously appeared on the show on July 20,[58] but he cancelled his August 17 appearance because of a change in travel plans.[59]”

Great comment. I totally agree. He’s been on unsteady ground ever since that monstrosity passed. In fact, since then, the only political victory he’s achieved is the supreme court decision to not over turn Obamacare. He got slammed in the midterms, the Wisconsin thing blew up on him, and, most telling, not a single Democrat supported any of his budgets (this, by the way, is one of the most under-reported stories of his term).

Obama’s idea of fixing the economy was to pass ‘stimulous’ and increase social spending. Amazingly, he still doesn’t understand why the economy hasn’t got going even after throwing trillions of dollars down the drain.

It’s quite simple to me. Before people spend money, people first need to have confidence in the system. Trillion dollar deficits and unpaid for social programs such as Obamacare make us all weary and nervous about the stability of our government...hence the slow economy.

Prime Minister Angela Merkel of Germany tried to explain this to him on one of his first trips to Europe as President. She told him that the economy doesn’t need government money. The economy mostly needs confidence in the stability of the government and in him as a leader.

Obama didn’t buy the message and in my opinion never really understood the nuance and finese required to establish ‘confidence’ anyway. In the end he delivered money in the form of ‘stimulous’ and lavish spending but, never came close to delivering the confidence Americans needed to break open their wallets. This is why he fails and will continue to fail as prsident.

Maybe he didn’t listen to Angela Merkel because she’s a woman (ok, that was a cheap shot).
