In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
rectitude \REK-tuh-tood\ noun
1. the quality or state of being straight
2. moral integrity : righteousness
3. the quality or state of being correct in judgment or procedures
Example sentences:
The speaker exhorted audience members to lead lives of unimpeachable rectitude and integrity. ,
"The finance ministry will pitch India's strength as a largely domestic economy, renew its commitment to fiscal rectitude and showcase recent measures to lift sentiment to try and convince global rating firms not to downgrade the country's sovereign rating."
From an article by Deepshikha Sikarwar in The Economic Times, September 7, 2012
Etymology:
"Rectitude" has a righteous derivation. It comes straight from the Latin noun "rectus," which means both "right" and "straight." "Rectitude" itself can mean either "straightness" (an early use referred to literal straightness of lines, although this sense is now rare) or "rightness" of character. "Rectus" has a number of other descendants in English, including "rectangle" (a figure with four right angles), "rectify" ("to make right"), "rectilinear" ("moving in or forming a straight line"), and even "rectus" itself (a medical term for any one of several straight muscles in the body).
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

WFB's attempt to emulate us ; ) No pushing at the door please!
Damn near killeditude.
Did I mention I only spotted two bumper stickers in Syracuse the other day. One was pro Obama the other was one of those NObama stickers. Amazing. I expected lots more. No signs for Obama at all throughout the drive. A few for Romney, not many. Only about a half dozen houses decked out for Halloween. DH has bought several new inflatables, and yes our yard ,trees, inflatables, landscaping, etc. are all decked out.
There it is. A+!
Trying to expel Obama from the White House, much less the entire liberal-socialist extremists from Washington’s reporters - is only slightly harder than expelling a rectanglitude from one’s posterior.
Except most posteriors are cleaner than Washington’s press corpse.
Rectitude is what happens when your suppository turns sideways.................
Lordy, that is a gooooood pic!!!
Hey, dude! What happened to your car?.......
I rectitude!...............
i just sent that to my friend Janice, that is going to send her around the bend! she already has a HUGE crush on him!
A for you!
BTW, are you loving Aggie football like we are this year?
did i tell you that in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria where xsbaby’s school is, blanketed for obama in 08, had an actual ROMNEY sign in the yard only a few doors down from her. astounding to me.
A+ for the tag line alone! She really is!
Someone had to.
I do predict a rout. I will be under suicide watch if Romney doesn’t win.
I saw a bumper sticker at Seven Springs with the Obama logo and it said “O’Vomit”
LOL!
Excellent
Welllllll, I can think of one fourth quarter late in the first game I wasn't real happy with ... 8<)
But, .... It's nice to be winning! (Xsex: How are your Sillycruise players doin?)
