To be clear, Raddatz was born in Idaho and grew up in Salt Lake City as a self-described Protestant. She dropped out of the University of Utah and moved to Boston, where she was linked to NBC’s Brian Williams. Her story from there is more well-known.

It's not in her googlography, but Martha Raddatz was Martha Bradlee when she worked local news in Boston and was married to Benjamin Bradlee Jr., former deputy managing editor of the Boston Globe and son of legendary Washington Post editor's son.
