Makes no difference to them of course, since they think the person who made the most sense last night is still a moron. But they arent happy this morning. Just wondering how its going around your workplace.
P.S. Overheard the company owner this morning telling one of his managers: After that debate last night, Im cutting Romney another check.
So, what are they saying around YOUR water cooler, folks?
I wouldn't know. Obama was instrumental in my layoff 2 years ago.
“So, what are they saying around YOUR water cooler, folks?”
That Mitt put his foot up zero’s A$$
Kudos to your owner, but he should have also said, “This may help Romney win, and you guys will be able to keep your jobs.”
You have to spell it out for the cretins.
Can't talk politics at work....
My lib friends on Facebook are really scratching their heads....one guy even said that he does not thing either one is worth voting for in the election, he would never vote for a Republican anyway....this might secure votes for the independents ....I do not think the O is going to improve in the debate and we know that Biden is going to look a fool in the debate so I think many lib voters are going to stay home and “not the vote”
Well, I’m off work until Saturday night. I have a lot of running around to do after I take my Sons to school.
Meanwhile...
I have this funny feeling that the debate last night panicked the hell out of a lot of people.
Desperate people.
So, I will be carrying my pistols everywhere I go (As always), and be EXTRA vigilant.
Flash mobs, anyone?
Not a fair observation as I’m in a deeply red state and surrounded by conservative business people who cannot stand Obama. BUT, one of the guys I talk to about this stuff frequently has been “pessimistic” about Romney’s chances and not prone to excitement/hyperbole but he was sky high this morning. He was just raving about the “annihilation” by Romney last night.
There are four of us in our cubicle row here at the office: two libs, another conservative and me.
Lib #1 did not watch the debate but just the coverage. Her meek statement to me first thing in the morning was “I saw a poll in which people overwhelmingly said the debate would not change their vote.”
Lib #2 said that Obama took a deliberate dive (!!), underperforming by design, so that he could come back strong on the next debate.
The other conservative I was proud of. He isn’t glued to talk radio or blogs like I am, but he made a cogent, logical case for Romney.
Lib #2 did concede that she appreciated that there were “two intelligent people on the stage” (I would say only one) and that she at least respected Romney.
It's Lehrer's Fault.
I’ve seen two commentators saying Obama won. Both blacks. The 96% seems to be holding.
Water cooler pretty much everyone admits Romney won. Obama was “tired” and more worried about his anniversary. Ha!
At my business meeting this morning it was about 13-2 thinking Romney obliterated O-Thug
Personally, I thought Romney did just OK but didn't deliver any knock-out punch. He stayed on the defensive way to much and allowed Jim Lehrer to push him around. We turned off the TV after the debates concluded and didn't listen to the talking heads. It's bedtime in the Eastern time zone.
Then, on our morning drive show, they played a montage of the talking heads. It was funny. Chris Matthews, in particular, was in total meltdown mode. So I guess Romney did more than just OK.
The rest of them that have professed their allegiance? Silent... They know it is over IMHO and will be dejected as we have been recently, but for them it will last 8 years or more...
This a.m., I chose to peruse the DUmmy files.
A common theme: Romney LIED. A lousy troll with less than a hundred posts had the audacity to ask for a spoecific example...tombstone will follow.
Other themes: Obama did a rope-a-dope, to really knock out Romney in the next debate. Romney was a bully. Leher is in the tank for Romney. Romney looked too animated...and Barry looked...um...err...Presidential:).
But the general theme in DUmmyland was one of despair. They know it was a turd of a performance. So, the discussion turned to how much the debates really don’t matter...riiight.
I have not seen a GOP candidate at the top of a ticket win a debate so handily since....Ronald Reagan and Walter Mondale. I could be wrong...but I thought it was that lopsided.
The debate result won’t change the minds of committed lib Democrats. What it did do is open the eyes of millions of apathetic Americans who might never have seen or heard Romney before, at least not clearly, and saw him look more presidential than the president. Obama is supposed to be the smartest person in every room, the greatest genius to ever inhabit the White House. But last night, much of the time, he looked like a little kid being lectured by an adult.
I got one Libby who says she didn’t watch the debates, but seems to know an awful lot about them... Anyway, she says that it was really not that bad. I told her the Maher tweet (Wow! He really does need a telepropmter), and that shut her up. She’s pouting now...
I got another Libby who says if the election were tomorrow, he would vote for Romney. But he is pretty sure that Obama will win him back before election day.
Be careful. When the illusion fails the executions begin.
DAYTON OHIO GOT A SHOUT OUT! The majority opinion around my water cooler is that Mitt won and did it well. Swayed a few people too!
This idiot is grinning from ear to ear this AM. I haven’t felt this good about politics in a long time. Savoring the moment:-)
