I'm interested in how your child's ADHD diagnosis came about and how it affects your lives. I'm particularly interested in those using non-medical approaches to ADHD treatment such as vitamin/mineral supplementation and diet.
And grow government "programs", too. It's an easy sell given how lazy so many parents are. Same goes for "autism" - - notice how the definition keeps getting expanded so more and more and more kids can be diagnosed with "autism". "Our big government bureaucracy can help you with your child's problem, ma'am."
Take your kid off all sugar and keep them busy.
And, heaven forfend, try some discipline if you're not too lazy.
Never say never on the meds. I agree that your approach should be diet and vitamins. Just don’t be afraid to try the meds if nothing else works. For every “zombie kid” story, there is one of success. Use a doctor you trust, and you can discontinue use if he shows adverse symptoms.
Yes. Take Metagenics brand magnesium malate. build up to 6 tablets per day, with the last 2 at bedtime.
Many forms of mag don’t absorb or don’t absorb well.
good luck!
You did not hurt my feelings. My statement was from the general notion that there are far too many diagnoses of these things. Why now? Tainted food? Overuse of chemicals? I operate from the beware side of the equation as there are far too many organizations promoting their own agenda with little regard for their mission statement. Think school systems as a prime example (”We are doing it for the children!”). I understand your position, but, be skeptical and inquisitive in these times. I am not dissing those who have done their homework in actually validating the situation of their children. But simply taking the word of a doctor is no longer sufficient. Simply taking the word of a pharma that their drug fixes it, is no longer sufficient. Be smart about it, not naive or ignorant. Again, I am not saying that the given Freepers are such. And your suggestion that I said that is misguided. You need to get a tuneup on what is sarcasm, and what is not.
