OCOEE, Fla. - A Central Florida family is demanding justice after their pet dog was shot and killed by a police officer.
Jackie and Mitch Schutt said an Ocoee police officer knocked on their front door on Sept. 18 to return an ID, but when Jackie opened the door, her dogs ran out to the porch and, she said, the unthinkable happened.
"The officer just pulled out his gun and shot her three times while I had a hold of her," said Jackie Schutt.
The Schutts say bullet fragments struck their front door right where their 9-year-old and 6-year-old children were standing.

Ocoee police Lt. Stephen McCosker said the officer involved is a veteran who's been on the force for more than 10 years. Lt. McCosker also said the officer also took a few days of medical leave to recover from the bite.
Local 6's legal expert Luis Calderon said officers have the right to come onto someone's property and shoot and kill a dog, but only if the officer has reason to believe they are in danger.
The Schutts say the Ocoee officer was never in danger and added he refused treatment from paramedics after the incident.

control your dog.
Some donut-munching JBT shoots my dog, it will be the last thing they ever shoot.
This cop needs sued into bankruptcy and the entire city taken to the cleaners.
She had a hold of the dog.
Are you reading impaired?
There are two better options.
1. Control the cops
2. Don’t open the door for cops unless they have a warrant.
They won’t release this idiot with a badge’s name.
I’m hoping someone posts his name, address, phone numbers, and where his kids go to school.
Years ago I used to out undercover cops online.
Likely in the future, the time will come in which the children will be gunned down.
Was the dog a pitbull? Did the officer get any kind of assault from the dog BEFORE this hairbrained woman ‘got ahold of the dog’?
It was a Boxer, the family said she did scratch him. He says it bit him.
Sue the cop and his family into 3rd world poverty. Make sure every control freak in uniform knows it can happen to them.
“Years ago I used to out undercover cops online.”
I got suspended from school for doing that once. I posted on FB how this one guy kept asking me if I could tell him who was ‘holding’ (drugs) and I told him several times that I didn’t do drugs and didn’t care to know who was or wasn’t ‘holding’. I finally posted on FB complaining about him and got suspended for ‘outing’ a cop online.
I enjoyed the week off from school and got my mom to agree to independent study and I never went back.

It was a Boxer. Can’t you read plain English, or do you just need new glasses?
BTW, what difference does it make what kind of dog it was?
This moron came up to her front door on her property. The dog was just doing what he’s supposed to do, defend his or her family from strangers.
NWA was right. F*ck tha Po-lice!
some inconsiderate a$$hole lets their dog out and it bites me, I will kill it with my bare hands..
The animal bit the cop, therefore she did not have control of the animal.... period
You come on my property uninvited you, yourself might get ventilated by me, pal.
You’re obviously a dog-hater and JBT boot-licker.
I have a sign on my porch, and it applies to cops as well.
“No Trespassing! Violators will be shot! Survivors will be shot again!”
Cops aren’t ‘veterans’ unless they’ve served in the military.
Not a dog hater by any means...
However, I do detest people who refuse to control their animal, and then blame everyone but themselves when their out of control animal causes physical harm or damage to others..
A cop knocks on your door and you are going to just shoot him?
Or turn your animal loose on him?
Man, you gots some serious social issues, along with needing an adjustment in your meds.. chump
No, cops just better not show up at my door.
Read the story. The cop was on her front porch, the dog did what dogs are supposed to do when a complete stranger shows up.
besides, cops are evil bastards anymore anyways. To Hades with ‘em.
