Satire my foot! It is written for people who do not know of Roy to judge him. Satire tends to be so outrageous that it is easily seen as satire. Reading your piece, that you did not bother to reference as fictional...could easily be read as factual. I think that is exactly what the author intended..
And to continue on in that vein, you referenced possible physical abuse towards David’s ex which never happened. You put up smut and gossip then you call me a judger. O boy.
I thank God for the encouragement, and for others who work to defend salvific truth, though that is a grief to those who preach a gospel out of devotion to men.
..”but, when challenged about what the man says about the Christian faith, you couldn’t do anything but be cranky, sarcastic and mocking ...”
actually, I posted this thread to help people as I have been greatly blessed by this Roy’s Be still and it is even helping many in the world. Where the church has failed, Roy has picked up the ball. These people have come here and called roy all sorts of things and accused him of being fales. I have mocked no one but have been strong and honest in defense of a most blessed man. They are obviously not real Christians when they cannot even tell the difference between the son and father and then make a big huge deal of it. If you think me calling them gullible dumnies is mocking, not really...it is pure truth. One of them continued to mock me actuially by calling me fabie. So you got the wrong person. Have a good one!
I would like to add, that while you guys are fixated at convincing others that Jesus is God...Roy and his foundation are changing lives deeply by providing a biblical Be still exercise which attaches people to their holy spirit. So while you guys go round and round the mulberry bush on this, it means zero if you do not help people to actually forgive...so that we will be forgiven. Barring that, you can believe anything you want but it won’t amount to a hill of beans in God’s eyes.
You are a bunch of hypocrites, the blind trying to lead the blind just as Jesus spoke of. What a shame and waste. Hope you wake up! You will not have an excuse now...
I know you posted this thread to help people and you stated how much Roy Masters' "Be still" program has helped you personally. I'm glad that you have found help, but all that I and others here have tried to communicate is that Roy Masters is NOT a genuine Christian theologian. I understand why it is important to you to defend the man that you believe in, but it is equally important for Christians here to defend the Jesus Christ that we know and believe in.
You have quoted Masters and so have others about what he teaches concerning the nature and person of Jesus Christ and what you seem to be missing here is that it IS a big thing. You claim you are being strong and honest in your defense of this "blessed man", as you call him, and us here are doing the same towards our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is NOT a matter of telling the difference between the Son and the Father because numerous posts have done exactly that - either you are blinded to them, failed to read them or all-out reject the concept and ignore any discussion to the contrary. It is impossible to have a dialog about an issue when the other side refuses to hear what the opposing side says. DID you actually read any of the links provided to you? I'll take a wild guess and say, no, you didn't. And because you did not read them, you are STILL saying things that don't make sense. What is a "real" Christian to you, anyway?
Do you even believe that there are genuine Christians outside of followers of Roy Masters? Can a real Christian believe in the deity of Jesus Christ or is rejection of His godhood a prerequisite? I've asked you this several times, but you are ignoring it for some reason. And, yes, calling someone ignorant, gullible dummies is mocking and is NOT an attribute Christians should have. Maybe Roy uses this kind of language, but it doesn't make him right either.
Your responses to comments made to you do not reflect a peaceful, committed or secure state of mind and maybe you should examine your motives and heart for why you react that way to any criticism of your beliefs. I am completely sure of my faith and am not uncomfortable speaking about it to anyone who asks. I can also step away and not be insulted if that someone refuses to accept what I believe - I feel no need to injure, mock, belittle or insult them - but I do pray for the Lord to touch their hearts with the truth that they may be saved. I acknowledge that not everyone will come to the knowledge of the truth - it is a sad fact to accept - but all I can do is preach the gospel and allow the Holy Spirit to do his work in every heart that desires to hear it.
I sincerely hope you will meditate on why you have such a visceral desire to defend a mere man who is not infallible does not know everything and who, apparently, does not teach the historical truth of Jesus Christ as spoken of by Holy Scripture as well as through the writings of the early Christ followers. There IS no "new" revelation, what God meant to be known is preserved for us in the Bible, all that needs to happen is for people to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit who is our teacher and who illuminates the truth in our hearts as we listen to God's word.
I wish you the best and will continue to pray for your enlightenment.
And good, ol' ROY preaches HIS 'gospel' to folks who don't know enough of the Bible to refute him!
Yup; you are right.
But 99% of normal folks DO tend to 'get it'.
Good try; but...
I put up YOUR own words to PROVE you call ARE judger.
It's Make Fabian Happy Day!!!
Let's see if I can:
I did not expect you to be decent and apologize for putting up a clearly false story.
I apologize for putting up a clearly false story.
Now then; Is he HAPPY???
FABIAN...
You are JUDGING again....
Then I guess you DO forgive us falsely deluded folks!
Thanks, oh kind one!
Never heard of this guy before; researched tlhim and listened to a tape of his show. This guy hit a slippery spot on the way to creating his cult and dlid all the way past it into convincing himself he’s a god. Swings a five hundred pound brass balled ego on a chain yet hates a mirror worse than Dracula.
Brings to an end any curiosity I have about this man...all I can say is, if he offers you a free trip into the jungle to build a holy city, DON’T GO.
Yikes, cubed.
Not even with an offer of REALLY good Kool-aid®?
Not at all..you are the ones that judge a good man repeatedly. And you all NEED to beleive Jesus is God, because after all, only God could be expected to not sin here on earth, not us lowly Christians! Yet, here in Galatians and several other places in the Ne Testament, it says we will not go to the Kingdom if we keep on sinning. It is clear, Jesus was the son and he set us free, but the church does not have the real insight to show people how to Be Still and access that real freedom. When Jesus spoke to Mary and in other places to sin no more, he was not joking. I do not sin and it is a blessing and not hard! You guys are denying the very power of what Jesus did in order to feel better in your continued sins, pure and simple. And in that you harm yourselves and others. God have mercy on you all...
“Galatians 5:19-21 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.”
Listen and learn...he was speaking about you guys too here...and no, he did not mean that he was God when he said my Father and I are one. Obviously for any discerning soul it means he is in one accord and will with God. When you see the son you see the Father’s will perfectly!
As those following this thread should be able to see, the hypnotic form of kool aid requires that one ignore the abundant evidence that Masters is a nonChristian cultist, and that living without any sin is not what the Bible describes a Christian as being, but that those who impenitently practice sin versus practicing righteousness is what characterizes a believer, (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2931985/posts?page=50#50) and which includes confessing their sins, as in many things we offend all, (Ja. 3:2) while those who say they have no sin are those who are in deception. (1Jn. 1:8,9)
Nor rather than needing to deny that Jesus is God, believers declare with Thomas to Christ, “My Lord and my God,” (Jn. 20:28) for so He is manifest to be.
But as it appears that those under Masters suppose assertions are arguments, and when faced with evidence that refutes them they cannot admit they were wrong but resort to unwarranted assertions of superior esoteric light, then meaningful exchange is discouraged.
Well; ain't THAT special!!
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:
10 Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: God, I thank you that I am not like other peoplerobbers, evildoers, adulterersor even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.
13 But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
14 I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
I can't change FABIAN; but I can shed some light, as to what the Scriptures say, to others who may be reading this thread.
