The RNC needs a good campaign theme song.(Vanity)
Vanity

Posted on 08/25/2012 7:39:08 AM PDT by Shqipo

Everytime a Republican starts playing a song at a rally, a liberal musician starts crying to stop it. I think I found one that might work that is patriotic, hopeful, and would serve Romney/Ryan well. As the RNC has no skill in this stuff, perhaps we might offer them some options.

Update the lyrics to “Eve of Destruction”.

Here's the answer to "Eve of Destruction"--and I think it's a better song.

The Dawn of Correction--The Spokesmen (1965)

Wow. Someone is actually hip in the RNC then. A good choice.

With all the attacks against the GOP claiming we aren’t female friendly, pack the stage with women and play this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBpYgpF1bqQ

I’d love to have them play
“We’ve Got to Take This Country Back” by Vince Gill and John Anderson...Great refrain for everyone to sing.
No You Tube vid but ought to be on iTunes or where ever.

Years ago on some thread about the national anthem someone suggested the Peter Gunn theme should be the national anthem. Meanwhile it could be used by the pubs. The composer Henry Mancini has joined the choir celestial so it should be safe.

I notice that this is the politically correct version--in the fifth verse, they sing, "let us live to make men free"--but in this wimped-out age, no one ever sings "let us die to make men free," as it was originally written, anymore.

I would love to hear a recording featuring the third verse:

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal.
May the hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on."
I have never seen this verse in a hymnal or heard it in a recording.
