Sorry to reply to you but I had to start somewhere. Everyone has it wrong. Do not depend on what you can store—while this is an approach and a worthy one—depend on yourself. All you need is water, fuel and knowledge of available wild foods in your area. Start with weeds, they are in every climate zone and a brief knowledge of the local weeds is easy. Secondly, wild fungi are everywhere—but be careful, a complete knowledge of all local species is imperative. Join a local mycological society in your area and learn the species. I am going to get hell for this post but I know what I am talking about. Lastly this subject is moot considering the fact that our country and economy will not lay down and die provided we retain our freedom-—another reason to be involved in the political theater and vote this joker in the white house out. ‘Nuff said for now.
