Who is holding the beer (or vodka)? That seems mandatory for this sort of thing.

That is quite insane funny because they appear to be unhurt, but could someone with more knowledge about grenades explain why that one went off after less than a second? Seems like a defect or a grenade not meant to be hand-held.

What fishing amateurs! You are suppose to use dynamite and you throw it AWAY from the boat. Uh... that is what I heard. /s

Yes, but less deadly.

It looked to be a USSR F1 fragmentation grenade, they have several types of delay fuzes, one variation is a zero second delay used for booby traps. The delay is stamped on the blasting cap which is not visible unless you remove the fuze from the grenade body.

So close to receiving a nomination to the 2012 Darwinsky award.
Better luck next time Vladomir.

Premature Eboomeration. A common problem with liberal-commies and their junk.
To: navysealdad
Not fishing. Filming a scene for a movie. One of the guys died.

I wondered about that. The guy in front was in a very bad spot judging by the state of the boat.

Held it too long after the pin was pulled is my guess...
Another reason vodka and explosives don’t mix...

Most grenades have fuzes that burn for about 3 seconds after their pins have been pulled. An American grenade has a handle that’ s held on by a pin. There’s a cocked hammer under the handle that the handle holds in place. When the operator pulls the pin the handle is free to release as soon as the operator releases the handle. When the handle’s released, the hammer flips it off and goes forward, striking a percussion cap, thereby firing the cap. The cap’s detonation ignites the grenade’s fuze that normally burns about three seconds before it reaches the main charge. I suspect the grenade’s operator in this video may have continued to hold on to the grenade after he released the lever, thereby causing what appears to be a premature detonation.
