Unemployment Rate Rises to 8.3 Percent; 163,000 New Jobs Created in July

The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate in the United States rose to 8.3 percent in July, with the economy adding a net of 163,000 jobs, according to estimates calculated by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. The number of jobs added was more than expected, but was not enough to keep up with new entrants into the job market, reinforcing conclusions that the U.S. economy is stagnant. With overall economic growth slowing, weak employment numbers could indicate that the U.S. is following other industrial economies on a downward path back into recession. June's job number was revised down from 80,000 new jobs to 64,000.

Manufacturing output fell again in July, after falling in June for the first time in three years. Surveys of economists had predicted that the unemployment rate would remain unchanged at 8.2 percent, with 95,000 to 100,000 new jobs created.

Not a game changer. This is...Rush Limbaugh is the single most important voice of Conservatism and the GOP. His refusal to back Mccain resulted in the election of Obama and his lukewarm support for Romney is going to have the same result. Rush could be the game changer.

So instead of praising Rush for not selling out, you are complaining because he is not kissing Romney’s ring. Sheesh what a ridiculous way to look at life. I am glad that Rush is not lying to himself or others in praising a liberal. I say Good for Rush. The rest of you sell outs can vote for Romney and lose your principles but Rush is not...thankfully.

There are alot of good people in the GOP busting ass trying to put a Republican in the WH. A Republican in the WH means many, many opportunities for these hard working people to gain employment with a Republican administration. I’d rather have the Republican team in the WH then those that Rush tells us are trying to ruin the country. Those are my priniciples...

Unemployment rate has risen twice since April.

And the media and Obama want us to believe it’s good news!

TIP in the rhetorical war with
Democrats (Socialists - Obama).

Obama says we don’t don’t want to go back to the “trickle down” policies of the previous administration.

Well, How much of the Total Revenue of all companies
was paid (trickled down) to employees in the form of WAGES & SALARIES.

The answer is 70 -75 %.

Only the remaining 25-30 % goes to owners of land, capital and owers of businesses.

Of the remainder, most of this goes to pension funds, mutual funds and other owners of stock which is spent by “old retired people.”

The ONLY reason jobs supposedly went up is because the government applied an EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE seasonal adjustment to bring it up. The adjustment was the largest EVER for the month of July.

Re: “163,000 New Jobs”

Please remember.....

The USA must add 200,000 new jobs each month just to keep up with LEGAL immigration and population growth.

I believe that EVERY MONTH, the government releases "revised numbers" for the number of jobs created, but while the monthly number is trumpeted by Obama's ministry of propaganda, you have to search for the revision every month. Last month, the released numbers were 80-something thousand jobs created. But what wasn't announced was this month the DoL "adjusted" those numbers down to just 60-something thousand. So there was nearly a 25% drop between what was announced, versus the jobs actually created. And as I mentioned earlier, it seems that the announced number is "revised down" every month. If they "revise down" the jobs created number next month, I wonder how much press that's going to get, especially if it's 25% again!
