Wednesday was Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, and Americans flocked to the fast food restaurant in response to criticism of COO Dan Cathy's opposition to same-sex marriage (as well as threats from the mayors of some major cities).
The photos of long lines and traffic jams reveal the extent of the restaurant's support--for some it's about traditional values and for others it's about freedom of religious exercise and speech in the face of government intimidation.
There are even rumors that Chick-fil-A set a new world record for sales in a single day, though the company has yet to release any sales numbers.

We don’t need them. Everyone with a brain knows the MSM is in the leftist tank.
The brainless need to find out.
duh! It is patently obvious, the controlled media (Pravda wannabe) "built the new media"
many good and positive elements emerging from the attack on Chick Fil A. Nothing better than folks experiencing first hand the evilness of the state controlled media.
Yup.
I am harassing the heck out of the local news site here:

You can bet that they’ll have wall-to-wall coverage of tomorrow’s, “Kiss-in,” though.
@Customers "jam pack" Chick-fil-A on appreciation day
The line at Beaumont's Dowlen Road Chick-fil-A restaurant went out the door and curled around the restaurant, but the loyal customers weren't complaining.
@Customers flock to show support for Chick-Fil-A
The drive-thru line wound around the front of the restaurant, through the Best Buy parking lot and out onto FM 365 at one point during the afternoon. People parked their cars in the Best Buy and Petco parking lots and meandered into the restaurant only to stand in a line at the counter that spilled out the side door and into the high, hot midday sun.
I'm very proud of my fellow SE Texans on this.
Dan got the cash to support the right causes yesterday and probably some new customers.
He already had our family but we will go more often.
SEC Football is coming up sponsored by Chic-Fil
The content of Associated Press stories (the bulk of what you see in your local newspaper) is nothing more than liberal fascist boosterism.
The arrogant jerks in the media truly believe that it is their job to lead the unwashed masses to their political Disneyland.
There is no objective truth, and the end is used to justify the means.
During the 60’s, the motto was, “Don’t trust anyone over 30.”
Today, it should be, “Don’t believe anything the media says.”
If we are looking to make another statement, perhaps we might consider all cancelling our subscriptions to the local rag (a lot of us have already done that), and taking out a subscription to the Washington Times, the Pittsburgh Tribune or some other non-socialist paper.
Tut tut mainstream media.
“Mainstream media African-Americanizes Out Chick-Fil-A Story.”

It doesn’t matter. Everyone I know knows about the CFA Appreciation Day and most participated. Once again the LSM is proving itself to be irrelevant.
What’s even better is that Chick-Fil-A was almost as busy the following night (Thursday) when I went there for dinner. Not as busy as it was the night before, but people were lined-up outside the front door and drive thru was also backed-up.
I went through the drive-thru and the clerk at the window told me he came into work at nine in the morning and it was around seven o’clock when I got there.
I posted this on another thread, but it is appropriate for this one as well.
I was pleasantly surprised by our local Gannett newsrag Thursday morning. There was a front page story about CFA Appreciation Day, complete with photo. I had gone early to the same store, and it was busy but not swamped. The photo from later in the day showed a line with at least 50 people waiting.
They also mentioned a 45 minute wait at the other Monmouth County location, in a mall. They covered both sides of the issue, unusual for any Gannett paper.
Im going to e-mail the reporter to compliment him on the story and tell him to thank the editors for not butchering it.
Agreed philman, our local media did cover the story in our region.
Daily News of Galveston County carried it as a front page story yesterday. You can see the online version at:

(It was below the fold, as I recall, but it was on the front page.)
