I have a friend from Holland (Netherlands).. he showed me (never seen before) pictures of his grandfather (that was an SS), BUT he is really reluctant to show them because he doesn't want a bad image on his family (name)..
OH... since Nahi would be what we call a NEWBIE or NOOB (I like newbie better), It is highly unlikely he is familiar with how to upload the pictures to a website (like TINYPHOTO or ICANHASCHEEZBURGER.COM, or whatever) and then how to include them in a post.
I would say you are asking an awful lot to expect him to be able to quickly do so.
Maybe it would be better if you asked him to just read this thread, and YOU ask FREEPERS how and where to put the photos and how to include them in a post (and they will be happy to tell you) and he can just read it and see if he can do it.
Is Nahi even a registered member?
I hate people who despise other nationalities and the Dutch!
We have a forum called "WORLD WAR II PLUS 70 YEARS". There are lots if history buffs here who would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see those photos.
Please visit Homer's homepage for a run down on the topics discussed.
Sorry, wrong number.
: )
No.... I'm just being adamant.
So, um, he’s a troop.
A troop from 60 some years ago, but a troop.
I had a good friend who was in the Airborne during WWII. He jumped behind the lines on D Day and into Holland. He was trucked into the Bulge. Tough fine little guy.
He went back to the town in Holland where he was pinned down by German fire and the bullet marks were still in a concrete stock watering tank he hid behind.
The entire town turned out and gave a celebration for him when they found out about his past.
Doubt the Germans would have been received well there.
First he has to upload the photos to a server.
Then he can worry about the HTML (which we can help him with).
I don't know whether you're not getting my sarcasm, or I'm not getting yours.
Ok,, it’s been many years since I ‘registered’ ... he is trying to register an account (he is a bit tipsy atm)..
He is asking how to make an account..
and he is worried about his English..
We're not being hostile. We're trying to encourage him and offer help in getting the photos online, if that is what he wishes.
Now... what was this entertainment you spoke of ?
It looks like he was in the Weirmacht, not the SS. Had a cousin who was drafted into the SS at 16 and shipped to the Eastern front. He made it back to Germany one step ahead of the Russians. Had another cousin that was in Rommals Afrika Corps. captured there, and spent most of the war in a POW camp in the US. So, you can tell your friend we all have our skeletons.
Hell, my Dad was a democrat. I never held that against him.
Well... we Freepers are pretty flexible. We can deal with it.
I'm not sure which language SEVENofNINE is even trying to use, but I usually understand him/her. (No offense ole' pal)
Sorry peeps... still trying to walk hm through how to get a registerd account here..
and I have NO idea how long after that how long it will take to get his messages ‘accepted’ before they are posted :p
Not sure if any admin are awake atm
That’s not an SS uniform. It has no Totenkopf badge on the cap. He’s wearing a regular army uniform (Wehrmacht).
Ya.. I told him that, while we are waiting for him to get ‘acceptance’, that he can upload the pic to the chat site.. I will DL them and upload to tinypic and post them... be, he is still reluctant (and I personally know that he doesn’t know HTML well :/)
I will try to assist him
So...
He had reason to remove the photos from the website. Which would make them unavailable to post on FR.
Someone else suggested that he transfer them to you, and let you post them, so that this would 'isolate' him as the source of the photos.
Which sounds good, except you've kinda blown that cover all over this thread.
Good thing no one reads FR.
