I have a friend from Holland (Netherlands).. he showed me (never seen before) pictures of his grandfather (that was an SS), BUT he is really reluctant to show them because he doesn't want a bad image on his family (name)..

Heck, I have a Grandma that’s been voting Democrat for 80 years simply because she didn’t want to cancel out my Grandpa’s vote. Now THAT’S embarrassing family history!
I'll have to dig out pics of my father in his Wehrmacht uniform & run them thru the copier to post here. He survived three years in Russia & being wounded there. I was always proud of him! He's 88 and lives North of Indianapolis.

It would be really interesting to hear some of his stories. I’m about 1/4 of the way through “The Third Reich at War” and I’m beginning to understand how so many of the German people got caught up in the lies and propaganda. Very similar to some things happening today.

Just came back to the thread tonight and found your post about your father. Please, if you ever get the chance, count me in as one who would love to see your photos.
The easiest way to tell the difference is where the Reichsadler (Eagle) is on the uniform. The Wehrmacht wore them on their chests and the SS wore them on their sleeves.
So, far, I agree... sorry about that. He had posted many pics, but right when I was going to download them, he cleared the page before I could get them :/
