Wait, I thought you said it was MY fault.Evidently, we both currently wield Ultimate Cosmic Power.
Technically, that makes us a pantheon. ;)

If I had that kind of power, I wouldn't be messing with politics.
I would however play a few practical jokes with the Large Hadron Collider, just to mess with 'em. ;)

Let's just say the Cardinals would never lose another World Series, and leave it at that. ("Incredible! Molina's just hit his fifth consecutive grand slam in this game... without anyone else even being on base -- !") ;)

Then you really, REALLY needed to put that little bit of extra effort into securing my vote, didn't you? I voted for Gingrich.
Although, when I reviewed the election returns the next day, it was clear I should have voted for Dr. Paul. That's because the good doctor (albeit a bit short of a byte on foreign policy) came a lot closer to the 15% threshold in Massachusetts which would have subtracted delegates from Mittens than Newt, who only got 4.6%.
Now that's all water under the bridge. Now, we have to drag Mittens across the finish line and make sure there are sufficient congresscritters in place to ensure he etches the right sketch in 2013. We know he's good at etching that's why he has a nine-digit net worthh but he's not so good a picking the right sketch. That's why Congress is especially important this time around.
But neither Congress nor the White House will be forthcoming if the electorate next November is full of Kents trapped in Seattle!

If I have anything to say about it, Cruz will be in the Senate.
Still won't vote for your home-town boy, though.

But neither Congress nor the White House will be forthcoming if the electorate next November is full of Kents trapped in Seattle!Precisely the reason you're supposed to expend enough genuine effort to secure our sympathies (and our votes) well beforehand, rather than sniveling and tantruming about if afterwards.
This all just seems so terribly, awfully... complicated for you, somehow.
I sincerely don't know how to remedy that for you.

There are going to be some interesting downticket races here, besides Cruz and Dewhurst. Most seem to be leaning toward the actual conservative.
I know at least one state senator is sweating pretty hard over his support for the establishment's Dewhurst.

Oh, I fully intend to extend my voting-for-conservatives practice downticket as well (and as always), absolutely!
It's odd, though, isn't it? Here we both are -- two publicly (and repeatedly) confirmed "ABO"s -- and the CINOs are getting all huffy and red-faced at us, rather than attempting to convince potentially persuadable Obama voters to change their ways.
Weird. Weird! ;)

The other interesting thing about Dewhurst is that most of the state senate seems cowed by him because Lt. Gov is the most powerful political position in Texas.
Dewhurst is flailing, and making enemies. Sorta like what we've seen on this thread tonight.
I expect to see some kind of revolt against that kind of intimidation right after the election.
It may be quiet, but I expect it. Hell, I'm encouraging it.

If I have anything to say about it, Cruz will be in the Senate. Well, the 31st is the day, is it not?
I hope he wins. And if he does, remember, he'll be much more likely to make a difference with President Romney in the White House than with a lame duck Zero and a tie-breaking Plugs!
2 + 2 = 4.

flailing, and making enemies. Sorta like what we've seen on this thread tonight. Yup. Call in the Jonathan Crane Theory of Electoral Brinksmanship. Most recently utilized (disastrously) by Team McCain, just four short years ago.

Not voting for a liberal. Cruz will have to manage with whichever liberal wins.

Cruz will have to manage with whichever liberal wins. Why do you insist on making our guy fight with one hand tied behind his back? I mean, Rush jokes about that, but this is real.
What matters is the overall outcome.
Principles in the voting booth are for children! You cast your vote to promote the optimal outcome. Period.

What you do is up to you.

Not, therefore, "[my] guy."

Ok I understand your reasoning but at what point does principle come into play? We go through this election after election cycle with true conservative principles being left behind in the dust regardless of who wins. At some point we have to draw a line so when is it? If Rommeny should get in we as conservatives we have to revolt and force his hand at every corner just to try and get our voice heard. So at some point in an election cycle we have to make a stand or all of it becomes just a moot point making freedom and liberty lost concepts forever.

Glad it went well, someday we are going to have to slaughter a pig together (Requirement for a conspiracy in the Roman Empire). And of course, roast it. :D

And that is why the GOPe keeps throwing up losers like Romney.
If you don’t vote on your principles, you have none. Throwing out principles to please others is for children - not fighting for what you believe in and hold dear.
People like you are the same type as “Christians” who would renounce Christ easily in the face of persecution.
