I have been told that washing the bottles in the dish washer (using the heated dry cycle) is enough to sanitize them. I do this and just to be sure use the Star-San as a final measure.

When doing my research, I read somewhere that while using a dishwasher to sanitize can be done, there are possible problems:

1- Dishwashers will not wash the bottle insides. The bottle opening is just too small.

2- If there is any Jet-Dry present it will totally kill the foam head.

Thanks for that info.

The makers of Jet Dry suggest using a 50/50 mixture of distilled vinegar and water to soak the Jet Dry treated glasses to remove the surfactant coating.
