I received an iPad 2 for my birthday, but it will really be a family device. I need a protective case for it, considering my son is almost four, my daughter is almost one, and my husband still uses a TracFone because of his track record with phones. Any suggestions?
good topic. I have had one since Christmas, but I keep it in the box since I have not bought one of what seems to be 10,000 covering devices.
If you can’t trust FReepers’ opinions, who can you trust? Lol!
I am watching this thread, too. I need opinions.
I like my iPad.
Lifeproof. Period.
I have an iLuv case that is similar to a planner case. It zips, and has space for a note pad and business cards. It was $29.
The first one listed here is what I got for my husband.
Its perfect, stands the ipad, flips over so he can put it in his briefcase when he travels and I also got a non glare screen cover which has been on nearly two years with no problems.

Without question the Otterbox. I have a lot of friends who work oilfields and they all swear by them. (if you don’t know oilfield work, it is dirty and rough).

There is a beast of a case that looks like it is used by the military.... protects against all sorts of drops and knocks. A friend of mine received one with her iPad as she is a bit clumsy. I don’t recall the name of it.... when I find out I will post again.
I have this case and like it a lot!
Make sure to buy a stylus too, you’ll thank me later.
The box it came in as long as you leave it in the box and put the box flat in a desk drawer.
Otter Box Defender Series..... includes a protector for the screen. Most folks just get the plastic sticky screen cover to protect against finger prints etc.
Do you know if I will be able to put a screen cover on it? I love it except for that. I have their iPhone case and it is wonderful!
The one I use is a lot like these.
But for the ultimate in protection ($$$), check out Otterbox:
Do you think the stand is flimsy? I’ve read that some people are upset about that.
I recommend PixelSkin by Speck.
I also have one for my original iPhone and it looks great.
