That’s the best attitude. I’ve seen too many people “change partners” after a few years of marriage, only to realize (after the “new” wears off in the new marriage) that they’ve only just exchanged one set of problems for another set of different, and maybe worse, problems.

We’ve been married for almost 48 years. Have done some prepping; did a lot during Y2K, things which we needed and used anyway. We live in the country and have a well with okay drinking water; husband has done a manual well bucket. We got a wood heating stove (can be used to cook a bit on it, too) during Y2K that’ll probably be worn out before anything else comes along. - I grew up in a rural, simple life, so am used to taking it as it comes. . . one day at a time. . . DAILY bread.

Oh, heck, no matter how one “prepares”, there’s only so much one can do to be comfortable. We like to have exhausted ourselves before Y2K. - I would miss the heck out of air conditioning. - Bottom line . . trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. (from the Psalms)

Try thinking for yourself instead of hanging onto every word that some guy on the radio says. You win by getting people to vote for conservatives and by educating your friends and neigbhors who might not understand the urgency.

Humor is very effective against the pretentious and the power mad.

Mitt quote: ...gay couples raising kids. That’s the American way...

Reminds me of people who believe that the football program at Penn State is more important than the children.

I had no idea Roberts would pull this stunt,

Got me to thinking about all the change this administration has pulled off as no other in the history of this nation. I do believe demonic powers are beginning take shape in America....I can find no other explanation. Of course I believe in the Holy Bible, or other wise I wouldn’t say this. Judge Roberts sudden decision to change his vote is a good example.

I’m not religious, but I tend to agree with your assessment.

I know how you feel. It is why I’m really focusing on solar and wind power where I live. And regarding transportation, I’m an avid bicyclist and we even have a “hybrid” tandem. And with solar/wind, you can use electric vehicles.

It doesn’t solve everything, but what you are describing is literally a world of Mad Max or Book of Eli. If it gets that bad it means we are looking at the fulfillment of biblical prophesy. And that is a very good thing - in the end.

Every time I turn on the shower, I think of what a miracle it is, and how much I will desperately miss that, because I enjoy it so much.

I can't tell you how often I do that very thing. TP is something I expect I will miss a lot.

I am living life and enjoying it. But I made a promise to myself, that no matter what happens, I won’t waste any valuable time bemoaning the thought that I took it all for granted.

Instead, I will more easily accept what I do have and know that I enjoyed it when things were otherwise.
