A lifelong liberal sees the light

My older sister, a lifelong liberal, came to visit me yesterday. Less than a year ago she made the statement that a family should not be allowed to own more than one car. This illustrates the lunacy of her thinking. We were talking, and she told me that she was outraged that Obamacare was upheld. My eyes widened. She proceeded to say that she realized that Obamacare was taking away personal freedom, and she was worried what other personal freedoms Obama and the left would try to take from us. I was speechless! She expressed serious regret about voting for him in 2008, and said she will DEFINITELY not be voting for him this time. She actually admitted that she started watching Fox and especially likes Sean Hannity. By this time I thought it must have been a strange dream. Still, this makes me wonder how many other liberals will experience a similar epiphany and reject Obama and his far left policies. Needless to say, I am very happy with this recent development.

A conservative is a liberal who got mugged last night.

Share writings by Thomas Sowell, Milton Friedman, Walter Williams, Mark Steyn to further her education.

Excellent news!
She actually admitted that she started watching Fox and especially likes Sean Hannity.
Hmmm, I guess FOX does serve a purpose after all...a sort of rehab for Liberals.

Good for your sister. However, watching Hannity for ideas on conservatism is comparable to learning from Chef Boyardee to become an executive chef.
To: Redleg Duke
There is hope. We need many many more of these epiphanies. Did you explore with her how it happened? We might be able to learn from it how best to get the word out.

I know a lot of folks are already familiar with this, but it's an EASY read that's very effective. Written so anyone (even a lib) can understand...

I always tell liberals that Fox is not far right. It’s merely more balanced than blatant leftist propaganda channels like CNN or MSNBC. Compared to them, Fox looks very far right. Hannity is not a real thinking man’s conservative, but he is a good intro for someone coming out of liberalism!

That is true, but it’s a start!

Good Line.
Hannity is kindergarten for emerging conservatives. Probably just what his sister needs. Or maybe he is Magic Mike to awakened female liberals.
The guy is so repetitious and cliched.

I have had 2 liberals tell me they regret their vote for obozo. One is a California liberal of the hippie generation and they other is a gay guy. They both acted ashamed of their vote and told me in sort of a shy way of their feelings. I didn't comment just acknowledged that I heard them. It has not been mentioned again.

Good News! I am happy for you, I wish I could say the same for MY sister (county social worker). But I am not getting my hopes up.

We’ve had many political discussions over the years, and I’ve always presented facts in a calm non-confrontational manner. I’ve always encouraged her to not be swayed by what the mainstream media says. Over the past few years I’ve asked her why she supported Obama, and she always gave cliched answers—”He’s for the little guy,” and so on. I challenge all Obama supporters to thoroughly research him, his history, his record, his words and values, and than honestly assess if you can still support him. She did this, but I think that Obamacare is what pushed her over the edge.
