Really? That guy would not know which end of a plug to use.

Do people seriously think he would have anything to add to an local utility emergency?

I know we don’t like the guy, but it’s this type of stuff that makes worry about all of America.

People should have chainsaws and generators. Why would anyone rely on the government for any assistance.

The point being, a captain should stay with his ship if it's in trouble. But if it were GW, don't you think he'd be out with a chainsaw?

His presence would be support in a ceremonial fashion. "I'm here with you." It's our Capitol, after all, he's the president who lives in our capitol.

Most of us conservatives can take this sort of thing, storms and power outages, in stride, but DC is the liberal of all liberal US cities and full of helpless dependents. Which means--they'll be all the angrier at inconvenience and discomfort. I see a political opportunity.

Maybe Romney should stop by Home Depot, buy some generators and chain saws, and saw some trees out of the way.

You are somewhat correct. I live in a row house now and I have gas-powered tools that can clear a road in 30 minutes. I always stay ready.
