I suspect they’re headed for a collision in the relatively near future. A million miles isn’t much and the gravitational forces must be spectacular.

Jupiter has moons that obit as far as some 14 million miles from the planet.

Looks likes a photoshop fantasy.

More like a time-lapse photo. I doubt it would look that bright with the naked eye.
