In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
divulse \dahy-VUHLS\, verb
To tear away or apart.
Example sentences:
A perforation having been so made, it is safer to divulse the opening rather than to enlarge it by cutting in order to avoid the possibility of opening a blood vessel in an inaccessible region.
-- Eugene Fuller, M.D., The Journal of the American Medical Association
Even if you are the kooper of the winkel over measure never lost a license. Nor a duckindonche divulse from bath and breakfast.
-- James Joyce, Finnegans Wake
Etymology:
Divulse comes from the Latin root vellere meaning "plucked". The prefix di- is a variation of dis- before the letter v meaning "apart" or "away", as in disown.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

WFB's attempt to emulate us ; ) No pushing at the door please!
anyone having trouble logging on to Twitter? I can’t seem to get on at all. It’s like they are down? Can that happen? LOL
I mean it’s not like the HC decision came today. That I could see crashing twitter.
Ti, i live in a swing state bubble. you can have all the dems in your station voting for Romney but NY is not going to go republican, it comes down to electoral votes. i am not saying it can’t/won’t happen, but anecdotal evidence of people being disillusioned inspires hope, but not certainty.
Malkin’s come a long way from having no English at all. Gonchar, as a fellow countryman was likely like his big brother as he adjusted to life in the US and PGH.
Ha haboobs!
some were disappointed that Landeskog beat out Nugent-hopkins, but they are both cute ; ) i missed him saying that about his mom, but that is totally ridic that she wasn’t there.
speaking of anecdotal evidence, i have some third-hand from Paula about malkin being out in a bar somewhere in Pgh, several years ago now and his english was good enough to say YOU GORGEOUS to one of her nieces.
Conversations like this are happening. Upstate NY is more like the midwest. NYC and their cheating determines who wins this state, but when Obama is openly trashed and it is acceptable, even assumed, that we all hate Obama it cannot just be a local phenomenon. I give most polls an extra percent or two to Romney due to just that. I suspect that in the liberal bastions they still don’t dare say they are disillusioned. The voting booth is private though. Tide is turning, momentum on our side. We still have tons of work to do and there is time to ensure we win. I choose to keep a positive attitude and keep buying Obama biographies. You are at ground zero - the DC bubble. I will pray for you! ;^)
i am hopeful but skeptical. downstate is far more populous than your farmland up there. i was going to say HICKSVILLE, but since that’s on LI and probably blue, i can’t even say that ; )
Please recall that xsrisingsenior is working at Fairfax co. Romney HQ and calling people on a daily basis, as is her best friend from school, but he’s in the Arlington ofc. I have all kinds of Northern Virginians for Romney bumper stickers but no one wants to take them bc they are sure their cars will be keyed!
Well mail me some!
you want NORTHERN VIRGINIANS for Romney? i can mail them but.... i will see if she can get any regular Romney ones.
It may make Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin more competitive than Virginia.
Also it may make things interesting in NH, NJ, and Maine, but I wouldn't hold my breath there.
Right now Rom is up 3 in Ohio which may be close to a high water mark as this state is 50/50, although I think we can squeeze another percent out of the rural and outer burbs areas.
Good point.
NY went to the O man by 27 points last time. If that margin is down to 20 this time, we may be looking at least 300 electoral votes, 270 for sure.
twitter is back loading, they acknowledged they had a temporary outage.
is your twitter problem fixed?
They didn’t send you to Club Twitmo did they?
RIGHT NOW is the operative word. is Soros ready to let the Obams go? or whoever caused the fall 08 turnaround?
On September 15, 2008 there was an economic terror attack, what Congressman Kanjorski called an electronic run on the bank, that killed the incumbent party.
Now O is the incumbent party.
Look I’m not counting any chickens yet. But outside of a major Rom scandal or Obama starting war with Iran he is looking more mess than Messiah right now.
Also Soros gave the Euro three months so that means O is going to have a major mess on his hands come mid September.
