Well, the bottom of a swimming pool is just a laid-down wall...
Rodney King's life was a series of encountering walls at the wrong speed or in the wrong environment...
I watched him as well on Celebrity Rehab. He wasn’t what I expected. Seemed truly genuine nice man. Was routing for his sobriety.
I thought Blacks didn’t like large bodies of water. What happened?
Likely Clint Eastwoods, The Dead Pool. No, I am very serious. You know all the attention the press is going to give this. And you know the charges that will probably be raised. This election season is going to be full of it.
Rodney King drowns for an unknown reason, but the media uses the occasion to regurgitate the infamous beating of 20 years ago. Unfortunately, the media, and young people learn nothing from the way the media portrays the event. All we see are the cops beating up King, but were not given any background to know why. The fact is, King provoked the entire sordid affair by failing to yield to a cop in the first place. Instead, he caused a pursuit that ended badly for him, and others. I dont particularly care for cops, but they dont start beating on everyone they stop for a traffic violation.
The media does nothing to tell young people how to stop a minor incident from escalating in the first place, or for that matter what King did to provoke the incident. Cops dont want to be beat up, and they dont want to die, so any aggressive act by a citizen could quickly result in a more aggressive response by the cop, or cops. Instead, I watched some idiot on TV lamenting how the beating affected King for life, as though he was innocent before the beating. Even in the video, it was clear King was not submissive, but still trying to get up. Perhaps the cops were to aggressive or violent in their response, but the fact remains, King created the problem by his own actions.
“Why, I wrote a book titled “Humility.... and BEYOND....”.
“It’s a twelve-volume set.”
Did you dedicate it to yourself?
It took me a minute to figure out who they were talking about-I thought his first name was “Motorist”!
Why did this news story get moved to chat?
King was a tool of the nutty left that wants to portray defined groups of people as victims of racism, sexism, homophobia etc.
Rodney King was an addict and sadly like other famous addicts from Michael Jackson to F. Scott Fitzgerald he died an early death.
That’s a shame. RIP
R.I.P., I am sad to hear this news. I remember his stint on Celebrity Rehab. I liked him, he seemed very sweet.
Good thing for George Zimmerman that he was locked up when this happened.
Laz, you are an inspiration to me.
I could only hope to achieve half the level of humility that you exude!
+1
Me.
