The find is on the Parc Glyndwr development in Monmouth, where about 80 houses are to be built.

Somewhere, there are some real estate developers who are very unhappy.

No wonder I couldn’t pronounce the name with all the consonants: It’s Welsh-Gaelic! LOL!

Yes it’s old and dates around the time of the Great Pyramid, but notice the ancient Egyptians built with stone, great huge blocks cut and shaped, while the old Brits built with unshaped logs. One culture was way ahead of most of the others on the planet. Even the Indus valley culture left nothing big standing as did the Egyptians.

It’s clear that this site should be turned over to the nearest descendants of the native population of the area so that it can be re-buried.

I’m a pipe smoker who, in recent months, stumbled upon a few Morta pipes - made from 1000+ yr old wood, preserved in wet bogs.

From the advert:

“...This gorgeous MORTA is crafted from 10,000 year old (or older) Black Bog Oak...”

It’s quite a treat to smoke a pipe that’s older than dirt. Very rustic looking and a smooth smoke - better than briar.

IMHO
