I used to carry a P239 in 9mm but found that the Springfield Armory Ultra Compact (Officers Model, 3 1/2” barrel) is nearly identical in size, holds 7+1 .45ACP 180 grain +P at 1050 fps on my Pact chrono. It barely exceeds 1” thick with the slim carry grips, conceals beautifully and has that wonderful, crisp single action trigger.
I don’t leave home without it. Texas tradition.
I also own a SA Ultra Compact .45, asked the MFG about using +P’s, they advised against it.
Sweet. I shall have to look into that one as a candidate for my bicycle pack. Florida bike paths can have some nasty critters which one can come upon. Some with legs. Some without.
